Sorry, but with all due respect, that really isn't much of a problem. Distance doesn't count much, especially not in these days and an 8 hour train journey is quite acceptable in any case.
You're lucky though, Italian girls at least can cook properly (that's not meant sexist, but rather as a comparison between Northern European and Mediterenean cuisine)
