Russia owned the Dutch, sad to say. The Dutch didn't have it together at all. When the Russians had the ball, they had the best footwork and when the Dutch had the ball ... they played like Austria (as much as that pains me to say).

Most deserved win for Russia, they had Netherlands in a tight grip almost the whole match ... very good defence by Russia blocking the Dutch offence ... i find it strange how Van Basten used up his substitutes so early, poor tactical decission ...

not bashing the team after this match, but it's going like this for years on and on now.... great attackers but our defenders are like women playing tennis.

I agree on the B teams playing part (not that i don't agree with the rest). He (coach) should only change the first lineup with adding couple new faces not most of the players. A complete new lineup is not good.

Go Russia i would just like to applaud them, offense beats defense. Holland got stripped naked and exposed their defense was the akilles heel and everyone knows what happens when you have to start defend yourself all game you offense gets teared apart.
