Prime Minister Gordon Brown has narrowly won a House of Commons vote on extending the maximum time police can hold terror suspects to 42 days.
Thirty-six Labour MPs joined forces with Conservatives and Lib Dems to vote against the proposals.

Holding suspects for 42days will alienate Muslims. It also is an erosion of liberties. The bill was passed by just 9 votes which were sold to Gorden Brown by Northern Ireland's DUP party. The same party who called for and got internment in N.I in the 1970s. It is now widely recognised (even by the British intelligence) that internment was the largest recruiting Sargent the I.R.A ever had. Turning them from an almost broken fragmented organisation into the most highly motivated, organised, murderous terrorist organisations in the world. This is not quite internment but it will led the Muslim population down the same path it led thousands of young impressionable nationalists in the 70s.

When it was passed "Shame and pieces of silver" was apparently said. Apparently they are from the 1800s, it really allows you to put so much faith in the government when you use language like that and "eyes to the left"/"noses to the right"
Why can't they speak properly and just say "I agree/Disagree" instead of all that crap. I'm just waiting for the moment when one of them bites their thumb at someone (http://xrl.in/6ef).

42 days is way to long, if they can't prove your guilty by 1 week ,maybe 2, then there is something wrong.

I wish only liberals died in terrorist attacks, then I could agree with them.

That bill still hasn't been passed, it has to go through the House of Lords before it comes into action.

I seriously hope this doesn't get through the house of lords, and when Cameron blatantly wins the next election gets Gordon Brown up on charges of treason.

It will go through eventually. After the house of lords blocks it for awhile giving us plebs a mirage of a democratic system.

Why should they die for problems caused by conservatives?

Well it's nice of Gordon to provide an issue for all opposition parties to rally around next election.

Bye bye new Labour.

In hindsight all new Labour did was fuck the country up. In fairness the Conservatives started privatisation, but Blair carried it through. Out and out Tory hid behind that false grin he mesmerized us all with.

I really worry what that idiot toff Cameron is going to do next, as he/they are defiantly going to get in. God help us all.

Actually, the irony is, is that the DUP were against internment believe it or not, they didn't "call for it".. go figure.. eh?
