So I was having a smoke outside the office after a good lunch and a cup of coffee when I noticed this little fellow. At first I thought the little guy was scared and didn't move (although usually they scram pretty damn fast), so I took a closer look. Turned out the poor bastard had dried up on his sunday walk. So I decided to bring him into my office as a pet.

He's very low maintenance due to his current state, which is dead.

He needs a name, though..

What? Didn't you? j/k, no I did not, thank you very much.

The fact that kids today don't do anything in this magical place called "outside" doesn't mean that us 80's kids were abused. We didn't have the internets, so we did other stuff. Played tic-tac-toe with pinecones and rocks (drawing the board in sand), spent time fishing by a river with no fish, went sledding, skiing, iceskating etc. in the winter, burned ants with magnifying glasses, went riding bikes to the beach, played football (soccer) with basically anything we could find as goalposts, got in the occasional fight with our friends and so on.

Because that's what boys did back in the day.

So, after some analysis on the matter, I'm now realizing that by picking up the little reptile and taking it into my office means, I am basically, in laymans terms, "acting like a kid".

Abused I was not. My parents were the best possible ones I could ever hope for. If my single most traumatic experience relating to my parents was, that at 5, my mom didn't allow for me to go on one of these helicoptercarouselthingies at a funfair because she said I was too young, while this girl who was my older sisters friend, but was the same age as me got to go, and I was stuck with her little brother, 2yo, in the fucking bouncy castle, then I'd say I've had a pretty fucking awesome childhood.

Now that we have that cleared up, what do you guys think of the name "Horst"?

That still really doesn't change the fact you are naming and accepting a dead carcass of an animal as your pet. Try counseling?

That's like going up to a kid in the park playing with his imaginary friend and calling him mental. To each his own. If he wants a dead pet gecko, let him be. Now, if it was a pet rock I'd be a bit worried.

Pick a name already and stick him in a jar beside your computer or something. Maybe put Kingston in there with him.

I just knew somebody like you would come and ruin the fun. The guy isn't human, he doesn't have feelings or stuff. They are just one of the animals that do nothing but support an ecosystem by eating or killing things that "Need to be eated or dead".    /you fail

lol. "baaaaaaaaack in myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy day ..." Horst sounds cool but its meaning is kind if weird. Well maybe not as you described your new pet as sort of crispy.
