I say both are good, but some way SAS is more popular and did more in history. Remember WW ? Yeah they did some stuff.

But about that plane and the treadmill:
I think people just don't agree on what the situation was in the first place. This is because the problem was stated WRONGLY.
The treadmill doesn't move to match the speed of the plane (it CAN'T. The plane can move independently of the treadmill as the wheels spin freely), but rather the plane adjusts its throttle to stay stationary on the treadmill.
If the pilot only sets minimal thrust, enough to keep the wheels spinning and the plane in the same position, then of course it will not take off. If the pilot wants to take off, however, he CAN. He can take off no matter the speed of the treadmill.
So the question becomes:
Does the pilot WANT to take off?
If he does, he can.
If he does not, he will (probably) not.
Therefore the question is wrong.
If the question is "If the treadmill matches the speed of the aircraft, CAN it take off if the pilot wants to?" -YES
"If the treadmill matches the speed of the aircraft, and the pilot does not turn on the engines, will the plane magically take off by itself?" -NO
