Depends. If it was an open Battlefield than the Marines would win. If it the Marines didn't know they were there then... well the Marines would still probably win. The SAS are good, they're not THAT good.

Sas.
prove me wrong please. just because the SAS has massive media coverage does that make them the best? Hell no. I doubt there actually is ' a best ' when you're comparing special forces of western countries.SamTheMan:D wrote:

Just watched Rambo.
They try to follow the SAS as much as they can, but tell me do you know alot about the american seals? the french foreign legion? the german SF perhaps? any green beret unit (american ones, dutch ones just name them)jord wrote:

Mortar teams in a wooded area. The rounds would be bouncing off the canopy, trees and shit. Would be very hard to get accuracy too. I would feel plenty of teamkilling and kick votes on that one!dayarath wrote:

Sorry to dissapoint you but SAS is overrated. The marines are an incredibly strong fighting force, and no 100 man special forces group in the world would be able to stand a chance, if it's jungle warfare I guess they're just going to mow the trees down with 25mm rounds at the start, also spraying fire in a direction where you think enemy forces are is pretty succesfull in wooded areas.
SAS overrated my ass. In Sierra Leone they killed 40+ enemies and lost just 1 man. In the Iranian embassy siege they killed 5 captured 1 and lost no men. That's just 2 operations.
well there's a 25mm sniper rifle, but not a machinegun variant for infantry, bleh.
50 cal machine guns will have to do it then.
mortar teams might work aswell
Edit: However, if they were on the edge of the wood firing in on fixed positions with good intel, grids and shit, it could work. Not such a bad idea after all.

I know my fair share of some of them. As much as a civilian can know. Just going off de-classified operations like anyone else can.dayarath wrote:

So Im in 6 pages later? Are you all still debating if 175,000 US Marines would take out 100 SAS agents?
Of course Im pretty biased, but drop it down to, I dunno 200 US vs. 100 SAS, (all these crazy fantasy threads are , just ridiculous thb) the Marines still win...
Yeah, Im sure. Very sure. Nothing against the ferocious SAS, but FFS it's My beloved Corps we're "discussing"

As far as I know our SF's train togheter with the SAS, not trained by. helping eachother in training, it's going for both sides actually.02fxnmaurer wrote:

200 Basic trained Riflemen vs. 100 Advanced trained SAS = pretty heavy losses on both sides.
Still out numbered 2:1.... Sorry but its a sad fucking day for both sides, but more living wounded Marines in the end...
