I have two questions:

1. How do i COMPLETELY remove the 1.2 patch? Deleting the icon on the desktop doesn't completely remove it.

2. how can I update my motherboard driver?

1.- Not sure what you mean. Do you want to uninstall it or do you just want to remove the instal file?

2.- Go to your motherboard manufacturer's site. They'll have the right BIOS updates and such.

You're wrong... you HAVE to REMOVE BF2. You cannot go back.

Go to the motherboard manufacturer's web site for your updated drivers. Since you didn't specify what you had, no one can help you there.

i spent 110$ just to get it installed the first time because i couldnt get it on.

there is another way because i managed to remove patches before, but i forget how.

Ok I'll list it in steps for ya. This is 100% the only way you can downgrade BF2 to 1.12. Do not argue with us cause you will lose:

1. Uninstall BF2 completelly using Add/Remove programs from Windows Control Panel.
2. Reinstall BF2 from the DVD/CD you bought. You'll have version 1.0 I'm guessing.
3. Download patch 1.12 from the Internet and install it. You'll have a working 1.12 installation at that point.

If you can't find the patch online anywhere, I happen to have a copy of it on my External HD. PM me and I'll see if we can get it to you.

we installed it, but the csreen went black and crashed to the desktop. they had to put in a new vid card (which sucks) and clean deep inside our computer.

So you didn't pay $110 for a game install...you paid for a new vid card and to have the dust blown out of your case. New card's already installed now and the case is dust free. Re-install should be a snap...

and my mom doesnt trust me to do anything with installing on this thing so she has to help.

oh geez. Dude if u cant follow the instructions we are giving u we cant help u. work out what ever the prob is with ur mom. going back to 1.12 is pointless.
if the game isnt starting then defrag manually update punkbuster and clear ur temp folder.

LOL... funniest thread of the day

Ok ryan... Here's the deal.
You had a problem since your previous graphical card didn't support the game, so you paid $110 for a new card and some pc cleaning... By reinstalling the game you'll not delete your graphical card... (that button is yet to be invented, trust me)

Thus installing BF2 again untill 1.12 is a piece a cake. BUT as everybody said before, you'll have to uninstall bf2.
(press start -> all programs > EA games > Battlefield 2 > uninstall)

While the pc is doing it's delete stuff find your copy op BF2. (assuming that you have one)

After uninstall (it'll ask to remove or keep your settings, to keep it easy, press keep)

Than place DVD / CD in drive. Press close... A nifty little screen will pop up, and it will ask you to install BF2... Do so.

When all this is done, search on your pc or on the net the 1.12 patch... and install that.

All in all it shall take you less time than the existance of this thread.

I am so baffled at this. If you cant R2 a game cuz your mom wont let you then why does he wven let you touch the keyboard and mouse, this porcess is just as simple as that. If your mom is that worried have her become admin and make your won account if you have full access do it tonight while she sleeps or hell takes shit LOL its simple and no one will know
