You can tell I'm honest, because my stats suck and I haven't managed to get the damned basic knife or explosives badges yet. I started a second account, played half a round with it, and decided against doing anything with it.
What is GREAT about using the same account since day one is watching my player growth. I've gone from a really horrid K-D to .84... which still sucks, but it's getting better every day. I finally got my W:L to better than 1.0, which, to me, was as exciting as getting a ribbon. And when my K-D gets over 1.0, it will be just as nice.

Not bad. I got 37 c4 kills that one round (and didn't get any sort of badge). Then I got 29, got the badge, and it's not showing up in my stats. But hey, I'm not gonna get pissed off.Dr.Battlefield wrote:

but i disagree with the dichotomy set forth by you in this post.
if people make another account so that their current level of skill is clearly represented in their account then that is good. Especially since if you are actively involved in the community (like posting at the BF2S forums) people will disregard the reasoning in your post, open your stats, and then wage a baseless character attack because their K/D ratio is .01 higher than yours.
Honesty doesn't factor in to making another account. It's just as honest either way. If people are willing to sacrifice accumulated points than that is a sign that their intentions are to showcase their ability more than anything else. Kudos to them, I like to see how I have progressed and challenge myself to get over the hurdles of my early days, but I don't look down at people who do it the common sense way by effectively erasing those stats.
It's cool to see people who have an account for different types of play. Jet account, snipe account, AT account, etc. I think that's pretty awesome and maybe even a better way to keep track of your ability/challenge yourself.

Me too, only I'm more of a ground pounder and i went from a ratio of 0,77 (4 months ago) to 0,97 now, so I'm pretty good improving no? My account is the same as in the demo-days as it is my one and only account. My expert knife is gained on a knife-only server, so it is pretty honestly earned. I was the rank of Corporal BEFORE the rank update patch, I play casual, but mostly on weekends (5-8 hours sometimes) in week (1-2 hours) and not on a regular base and mostly with my clan friends.PFCStenzel wrote:

You just have to be patient for your explosives basic badge. If you want to get it honestly, I'd say one of the best ways you can do it is to C4 up a flag that is guaranteed to switch. For example, the Hotel at Karkand. In the first wave, some USMC guys are bound to try and cap the flag, and as soon as you see the flag go from MEC to white, "CLICK." You'll get anywhere from 2-4 kills. Next, you can fall back to the Square and do the same thing. If the USMC sucks, and they can't cap worth beans, then you can sneak up on tanks and LAVs as they go through the meat grinder and get some that way, too.Mr.CobraKai wrote:

I got mine on the SF map, "Nightflight." I would C4 the plane and wait for the flag to turn. It is a confined space, so everyone is in the blast area.
BTW, I'm getting better at ground pounding ever since I unlocked the G36E. I probably die more than I should because of no body armor, but I'm way more accurate with it than I am with any of the Assault class' weapons.

I'm not sure there is anything 'dishonest' about starting a new account. I am a so-called "honest" player in that I have only used on account so far but I have definately considered starting a second account since I've gotten better. I had quite a few horrible weeks while I was getting use to the game, and I even let my wife play on my account a few nights and she got me a purple heart or two. I don't really see anything patently dishonest about starting up a new account that reflects one's current skill level. That's just my two cents.

hah this is 3rd or 4th time i see nyte call himself "good" ..honest is great but i seen him call himself the best sniper simply because he has a 60 % something accuracy with sniper .. ignoring of course his low k/d ratio =p

First and only account. Started out as a bit of fun, got serious lately! Tryin to get the k/D up, but it's tough when I fly stuff like a brick....... Ah well, I'll stay on the ground where I've been from the start - it's all about enjoying it, isn't it? Going for that next badge or whatever....
i had both problems you guys descrive in a single round, i killed 46 guys as sniper at iron gator and i didn't get the expert sniper specialist in that occasion, also from those 46 guys i killed, 26 kills were with claymore and i didn't got vet explosives either, luckyly i got expert explosive badge a couple of day later in a really inteces round (at least for me)Dr.Battlefield wrote:

Mine is honest . . . my k/d and other stats sucked for the first 5-8000 points or so, but recently I have been much MUCH better. If I didn't suck so bad at the beginning my k/d would be over 1 now!

Pretty honest... but I've got Veteran Armor. But since I've played for an extended period of time, I'm an infantry player for most of my time. And I think I'm pretty good at it. Started with a bad k/d when I was medic all the time, and now steadily rising to the 2.00 k/d ratio. Still enjoying the game
Well, my kill to death ratio isnt good. I'm mostly infantry, unless opprotunities are good for spending a round in armor. Other than that I find myself spawning in with whatever loadout is needed the most. I squad up most of the time, only when my "regulars" are around to squad up with. I am a "think outside the box" type of player. Although we all run into our share of servers with "worthless team syndrome", we still manage to do well, and cap alot of bases. Although our team usually never holds them....
On an added note, my account is only a month old, but i had alot of experience on the demo. According to my xfire I logged 107hrs on the demo before I even touched the full version.
