It's actually pretty smart. To subliminally put it out into the national psyche and into the minds of young British muslims that what the terrorists are doing is anti-Islamic is a good thing. It's kind of like brainwashing them into not engaging in it.

By using terms like "war on terror" we only play into the hands of Al Qaeda who want a war with the west.  By referring to them as "anti-islamic" the hope is that we can alienate them further from mainstream Muslims, as CameronPoe said.  The idea is to stop saying "Islamic terrorism" because there is nothing inherently evil about mainstream Islam, and this term implicitly makes Muslims feel stereotyped as terrorists.  I think it could be a smart move, but it more needs to be done besides this to single out these extremists as "anti-islamic".

It is the same as saying the KKK 's actions are not racially motivated.

The terrorism perpetrated by these Muslim terrorists is counter to their religion. The terrorism carried out by the KKK was wholly representative of what that institution believed in.

There is no general link between Islam and terror lowing thus the expression Islamic terror only generalize a whole population/religion rather than the bad part of it.

About your example with KKK and racism - seing as KKK is mostly based in the US we might as well call all Americans racists couldn't we according to your anology ?

The "WAR ON TERROR" denotes no religion. It is IN FACT a war on terror. Please, do not be disgusted by victims of this war who recognize that this WAR ON TERROR is being wage by Members of the Islamic religion and committing acts of terror in the name of that religion..

While we are at it, please explain to me how calling Terrorists who are Muslims, comitting terrorists acts in the name of Islam, is not telling the TRUTH when they call them ISLAMIC TERRORISTS.  Where excactly is the inaccuracies in it?
