Does anyone still play surf maps?

I haven't played CS:S in awhile, but I absolutely loved the surf maps.

..and if you do/did, what are your favourite maps?

Here's some footage of my "surfing days". Good times.

10x is not a surf map, it is an abomination

I surfed for about half a year, it was awesome. I got really good at it, mostly due to the fact that i found the right servers to play on. (akron and ny fiber)

Yeah I used to play a few surf maps when I played Counter-Strike. I started off with surf_egypt then moved onto bigger ones. My favourite one was surf_meh_chopper. No one could ever fly the helicopter though.

Basically 3 types of game for Css:

Coolest And Requires Most Skill: Basic Css. Enemydown.co.uk tournament. DE_ Maps. Teamwork/Tactics.

Fun for skilled players: Gungame. Fast paced quick firing games of levelling up.

Lowest type of Css FOR ALL NOOBS AND KIDS, and most enjoyable (tbh): Surfing - Some maps take skill. 10x doesn't. commune_beta5 does.

I played a year in ED for a clan and still know timings/tactics/sounds in-depth for about 3 DE maps.
Not easy.... And it took a year of my social life.

I quit that and felt like just for fun games on BF2/Css/whatever else.

Must say though - Surfing is the most immature you can get on Css, but it is the most enjoable when you can go supa fast n supa spiidy. LOLZ

Taught about 3 people how to surf, Raphi grasped it the quickest. CBA telling people how to do it anymore.

HERE THEY R FRM PRO MASTA!!!

Always use left or right never back or forward uless you want to fall/stop.

Practice on own server (in console sv_airaccellerate 800 or something - google it)

Start on an easy map, like surf_egypt.

You'll get amazing and learn to gainspeed on hard platforms.

Also - Surfing is immature so prepare to meet 8 year olds. Millions of them.

Chyeah.

I think the hardest map I've tried was the one that keeps interrupting you with teleporters, and that big half loop thing. Oh and the weird jail.
I think it's surf_gauntlet?
Rebel_resistance is by far the easiest for me, if I recall correctly. I just love ignoring kids when they ask how to turn the lazers on.

That's a funny surf map, you don't even need to surf to get kills. You can sneak under spawn at start and kill people, fun on DM.
