Meh. I dunno. I've always debated trying it, but...I dunno.Hurricane wrote:

Actually, I am too. I've PROMISED myself I wouldn't because many of my friends are addicted, but more and more of my friends are getting into it. Hell, even one of my best friends (a girl) is getting into it now. THAT surprised me.
I dunno. D:
Play a private server with friends, using vent or TS and have a laugh, good fun and doesn't take up 2 years of your life
Rock Band! haha
CoD4 and Mass Effect are good game too if you don't have them already

A lot of people just get tired of other people shucking the responsibilities of living off onto blaming a video game. I started playing WoW about 2 months ago. I have about 20 hours in over 2 months... How is that no control? Anything in excess is bad for you. Take some damn responsibility for yourself and balance things out.Ender2309 wrote:
Simon: i've yet to meet one person who can control themselves and wow. it took me three years to break my friends from their wow addictions, and only now have they started hanging out and going to parties. every other kid who still plays it does solely that in their free time. millions might lead normal lives, but millions more do not, including, i think, you. the very fact that you defend it like its a human being proves that.
EverQuest and Wow destroy lives, marriages, families, and friendships!
Grand Theft Auto causes kids to shoot up schools!
Gran Turismo causes speeding!
Bullshit. Buck up and take responsibility for yourself. If we banned everything in the world that people get addicted to, then there wouldn't be a thing left in the world...

It seems that more and more people are breaking the stereotype of WoW and it's nice to see. You know that I play with more married couples then single people, anyone have any idea how many great long lasting relationships have been created because of WoW? Aside from your fucktard remarks its true.
I look at it this way from a lifestyle point of view. If you as a normal person come home and eat dinner, what do most do after? Watch TV, now let me ask you what is the difference between spending a few hours on your ass looking at a box or spending a few hours on your ass downing a boss? There isn't, both are to consume your free time. Yes I am a WoW player and I play alot for many peoples standards, BUT I have a job school and among other things a "Life" and last time I checked if you were breathing you had one. Now I watch football, baseball and the news thats it, I might spend on average 2-3 hours sitting at the TV a week. Thats wayyy below average.
My point in a round about way is that (Many are kidding, I know) you need to stop, its annoying, stupid and makes reading any thread about wow painful to read because its all about having no life.
Please just shut up, just shut up, and let the people that enjoy the game talk about it.

One of my friends was really unimpressed with Mass Effect, so I probably won't pick it up.

Just bought a 32" LCD TV.
...and I really don't have any use for a stereo.
Can you buy drinks from there?
Currently have Mass Effect rented. I know it is popular, but I just can't get into it. The story/interaction was cool and reminded me of the old Wing Commander games. Too bad I didn't enjoy the actual gameplay...ThomasMorgan wrote:

To be honest announcing you're thinking of getting WoW here is like walking into a Nazi tea-party and saying you brought Kosher food. People here are fervently anti-WoW (most just for the sake of it, or based off some popular myth or assumption etc.)- so you're not really going to get a lot of straight impartial advice.
Howeverrrr... I must recommend it . As far as computer games go, it's brilliant. If you have no self-control, discipline or self-respect, then I wouldn't advise it... because MMORPG games (note: MMORPG games, not WoW on its own) are very time-consuming. These games literally are a second-life; if escapism is your sort of thing, or if you lose contact with reality pretty easily, then avoid them. If you're an average gamer that just wants something entertaining to do for a few hours a day/week/month, then take the plunge. It's worth it.
I have met a lot of really friendly people through WoW (I play over 2 servers, so I lose touch with people quite easily)- and still communicate with them quite often away from the game. And no, we don't actually talk about the game . Most of the people that I have got to know over the game are adult men with jobs, wives, and sometimes even kids. The stereotypical view of the game is very skewed due to communities such as this one, and negative media-coverage. There is a lot of appraisal for WoW in the media, and a lot of very-large websites often bring it into the mainstream limelight (e.g. BBC News)- but of course, bad press always does more damage than the good promotion.
