BF2S Forums F-35B escape J10 - perfect timing flares

Not a bad tactic.  Seems like the dispersement of flares would lessen the chance of dodging the missiles, but apparently it works.

I am no where near a good enough pilot but I do know how to make a person get rid of their flares without having to fire one single missile.  An F35 is not nearly as nimble as a J10 so it would be hard to escape that many missiles.

If you can escape first 2 missiles, then use full afterburn to fly as high as you can I think you can lose J10. Make sure you can make a "short spin" like the guy in the movie did, otherwise you will leave battle area and die.

Great post. I've been looking for something like this for a while.

The flare timing was good but if his opponent didn't spam all his missiles and had reaquired a lock long enough to get two more missiles off he would have died, like this clip here from the same pilot. The key to surviving indefinitely in the F35 is to never lose control of your plane and to prevent those situations from occurring in the first place.

The J10 is quite the opposite of nimble, clumsy. That is actually one of the small advantages the F35 has against it. In short range engagements, the agility of the F35 makes it easy to evade and avoid missile lock all together.

J10 can fly just as high as the F35.

Using that maneuver against a good J10 pilot won't keep you alive for very long.

thats lame! I know a load of different ways without heading for the clouds!

Its is a good way to start.  Of course Irishpride's maneuvers are more effective but it's very difficult to learn from his video.  Too much view changing
and such.  It would be helpful if one of the pros made a video like in foxone's post but showing multiple effective maneuvers breaking down each one for different situations.
