I_invented_BF2: DICE/EA spokesman; +19|6691|denmark

as far as I can tell, you should be able to get U.S. navy seals service ribbon AND MEC special force service ribbon at the same time, since the requirements are almost the same. just about 48 hours ago, I finally for filled the 50 hour-requirement for both ribbons.

here's what I don't get..

I got the seals ribbon in my stats on this site and it shows in the in-game BFHQ award section.
my MECSF ribbon DOES NOT show in BFHQ nor in my stats on this site. however on this site all the requirements are checked off.

I know the update can be slow - mostly in weekend - but this is during mid-week. and I already got 1 of those 2, with the same requirements.. so what am I missing???

I tried several times during the last 48 hours, to take a single round as MECSF - both winning and losing - and after that I checked in BFHQ and BF2S - it didn't help..

I've contributed to a couple of threads so far about the mec SF ribbon as it seems to be the most buggiest one to get. Some people have got it when they had anywhere up to 57 hours in theater. All i can say is keep playing, it will arrive at some point.

edit: checking back it was me who got it at 57 hours. wonder if thats a record?

I got the MECSF @ 45hours and SEALs @ 50hours.

I still think there are more, specific requirements to getting the SF ribbons than just time in theatre.

yeah maybe. I think in another thread someone mentioned number of wins and best round scores etc.

I believe it could be 68, I forget who but it was pretty recent.

Yeah, they don't show up anymore. You also can't click on em to see the information. You can however click on a ribbon in the latest awards but not in the ribbons below.

well.. today I finally received that MEC SF ribbon, which I normally should have received simultaneously with the navy seals ribbon.
the requirements are the same, but I got the navy seals January 24 2007 and the MEC SF June 10 2007 - 137 days apart - and after a MEC SF theater time of 54 hours and 50 min.

Hey...im having a smiliar problem....i installed BF2 Special Forces yesterday and it still hasnt registered on BFHQ or on BF2S....this means i cant get my 3 free unlocks on my normal BF2......is this just because its slow to update or am i completely missing something?
