square root of 72

Work:

The find the square root of the area to find the lengths of each side, finding they are 6. then using the Pythagorean Theorem, you find that six squared plus six squared equals x squared, so 36 plus 36 equals x squared, x = 72.

Simple.

Each side is 6.

Pythagorean theorem: A2 + B2 = C2

Therefore, 62 + 62 = C2
36 + 36 = C2
72 = C2
C = square root of 72

Karmaz plz.

The key is to get your answer down immediately, then go back and edit your work in later.

(Especially when you have mod hax that lets you silently edit the most without that silly edited on line)

Dang you anybody. I was hoping no one was intelligent enough yet to recognize that.

However, I am surprised that no one used simple geometry to know that the diagonal of a square is the length of a side multiplied by the square root of two.

Chances are that isn't the kind of work his teacher was looking for, but rather using the theorem.

Simplified radical form is for losers.

And you can also silently remove other correct answers.
... but you wouldn't do that, would you?

He asked for simplified radical form. Are you implying he is a loser, and that you are 1337 smart because you don't use simplified radicals?

Do'h. I didn't realize he was the original poster.

its incredible that i used to be a great math student back in high school.  800 on math SAT's, math olympiads...

and now i'm thirty and i do not have the slightest clue how to do this ultra simple trig problem...go figure.  and i haven't the slightest clue what the hell i learned in those calculus and multi-variable and single-variable calculus classes i took.

but math is good, teaches you to think.

You're so out of it you don't even realize you don't need trig to solve the problem at all!

nukchebi0, I was just kidding. Yes simplified radical form is more correct, but I usually leave answers in unsimplified radical form unless something can be divided out, easier to work with.

Sum of all numbers n, where i=0 and has values of all n (so all positive numbers), [i(i+1)(i+2)+(i-1)i(i+1)]

Solve this.
