2142 is balanced better & unlock \ customize sistem owns . Though BF2 has more action
i just finished playing the demo for a couple of hours i can see how some people could like it more but it is not for everyone ill stick with bf2 like other guys have said itll be a personal preference
I disliked the demo so much that I bought 2142 after 6+ months after release . Demo do not show 80% of infantry oriented gameplay ... they had to give atleast 5-10 unlock credits for demo ... This game is all about unlocks dude .dill13 wrote:

I love them both so yeah, if you have BF2 already and would like a change get 2142. It is suprisingly different from BF2.
if you have a chance to play the demo, then do that although you don't get a real sense of the scope of 2142 with just demo play. there is alot more to it.

a couple of things to remember tho, in the future there are only two types of aircraft, and APC's do not float, so if you absolutely have to have a floating APC, 2142 is not for you. likewise if you get yer rocks off flying a jet, then you will be disappointed with 2142.

by far BF2142 fails in comparison to BF2. I'm not interested in the fantasy futuristic gameplay of 2142. I made the mistake of pre-ordering it. I played the game for two weeks and then unistalled it. I HATE THAT GAME.
It all comes down to preference.

But if you wanna stick with BF2, go ahead. I have not played BF2 since the day I installed 2142.
I for one gave 2142 a chance. . . .
I played the demo, and bought the game. . . .and my ultimate conclusion is BF2 is a better all around game.

I play both BF2 and 2142, they both have their strengths and weakness but they are both enjoyable games.
