I think the best modern rock band is the Australian band Wolfmother. They kind of sound like Early Black Sabbath, especially because i think the singer sounds alot like Ozzy. You may have heard the song Mother, its in the comercial for Guitar Hero II for Xbox 360 if you watch tv at all. Check them out.
