The report button always works, if not it's something on your end. There are some times something truly legitimate gets reported for no reason, but usually it is a close call even if the content stays. If you think it is a fine line, I suggest pm'img or even xfire'ing a mod you like/trust to talk the issue and say why specifically you thought it should be dealt with. Personally, when I deal with something like that and choose not to remove/banstick/whatever the offending post, I will always pm the reporting user to make sure I'm not missing anything. A few times it has led to a greater understanding of the situation on my part, changing my opinion.Vilham wrote:

D&ST is a particularly nasty section to moderate I have learned, not just from the flaming/opposing but legitimate views/etc., but because the threads get so long so fast. It is hard to get context of many offensive posts in a few minutes.

No you are part of this community. With over 27k members Mods count everyones help. I see borderline offensive post nearly everyday and by no means are they limited to race. As I said before it is a fine line between free thought/expression and censorship. Usually it's just bad wording or the other members are quick to tackle the inconsiderate themselves. With a forum as popular as this one people are bound to have their toes stepped on. However, if you see racism call it out and we can deal with it. But throwing around "you are racist" every other post only encourages the real racist to put on their mask making it tougher to identify them.
