Will the US selling these weapons to Israel promote peace and stability in the middle east? Could there be potential problems from doing this? Or is it just allies trading weapons with allies like the US and the UK?

Who disagrees and who agrees? In my opinion Israel is an important ally to the USA and they are in the most dangerous place, surrounded by countries who don't want them there so I don't see the problem with them wanting to protect themselves. Possible repercussions could be that this won't help relations with other countries in the middle east, but they're not exactly great at the minute are they?

I agree. As long as there is potential for something really wrong to happen its alright.. At least for now.

I have no feasable solutions, thats left to men far more intelligent than me, but at least i don't post a statement practically supporting the dropping of bombs upon a civilian area, containing, but not confirmed insurgent activity.
