32 and this is my first on-line FPS. I've played alot of FPS's before on consoles from duckhunt to goldeneye to halo. I'm sure their were others but that's what I remember.

Having played a lot of FPS, BF2 is the first I have played on line. I played some Xbox Halo in a small LAN, which was fun.
But on line is like nothing else. No computer can have AI for a game like human opponents. In every FPS I played it was just a case of working out the level, or how the AI reacted in certain sitautions, and you owned it (the marine teams on Quak were sometimes tough, because they swarmed you and used grenades). It only got really hard when they threw stupid amounts of opponents at you, or the "boss" was super tough. But you just kept playing 'til you worked it out, or lucked out (I'll admit that's how I beat the boss at the end of Halo 2!!!).
Broadband and on line gaming has changed FPS, for the better. There are plenty of annoying things about it (lag, hacks, 7 year olds that screech at you), but playing AI on most FPS games now is like playing solitaire. Whoop do doo. The only reason I play the computer on BF2 is if I want to check out a fire angle on a map, or test the performance characteristsics of a weapon, or practise throwing grenades etc (and even then I do it on an an empty map half the time).
That's my "When I was young ..." ramble on.
