Suicide Cults = Natural Selection, at least they are removing THEMSELVES from the gene pool!Ganko_06 wrote:
As long as it's a nondestructive one. Suicide cults or people who believe they are they are instruments and must use poison gas to bring about the apocalypse...that's where some intervention is probably needed.
Suicide cults may be natural selection for the leaders and maybe just a few idiots but some people just get led astray like Jim Jones did in the 70's. It started out well till the leaders went crazy and made every commit suicide. Those that refused were murdered by execution or poison.silo1180 wrote:

The one's that feel like they are getting someone by taking someone with them are the one's that scare me. Otherwise I am pretty open minded, you're either cool and we'll hang out or you're an ass and I don't want anything to do with you.
Just don't try to convert me, I mean really you'll just be wasting our time.
Yes, but they also took out a Senator at the air strip. They turned very hostile after the air strip incident. Although they are generally classified as a "suicide cult", I consider them more of the "use poison to bring about apocalypse" type of cult.Ganko_06 wrote:

That's what I meant by 'a few idiots'.silo1180 wrote:

When I think of suicide cults I think of Heaven's Gate:
"Hey you know what would be fun?"
"No, what?"
"Lets all cut off our balls and get some Nikes!"
"Sweet I'm in!"

I see your logic, but I think you are forgetting that we are discussing whether or not we care about others' religious beliefs. It makes no difference to me whether the old man down the street is a Catholic or a Greek Mythologist. His beliefs are his own, and do not affect me in any way.OrangeHound wrote:
If you don't care, then you are probably too young to have experienced the power of beliefs. Beliefs are not idle little opinions and thoughts ... they become laws, regulations, customs, and expectations which ultimately affect you ...
