how is that possible? as long as the nitroglycerin hasn't started leaking out of dynamite it is quite stable, you can burn it and it won't explodeRAIMIUS wrote:

The US having a war against Drugs yet being the #1 purchaser of drugs n the world.
The Bush family having such strong ties with the Saudi Royalty(Osama's family).
Osama being the most wanted man in the world by the US and being on the CIA's payroll.
Osama being treated at a US military hospital shortly before HE? blew up the WTC.
Joining the military to support your family, not going to help much if you die now, huh.
A "corporation" is a "person" and holds all the same rights.
The "coalition of the willing" were only countries afraid of saying "NO" to the US for fear of economic retribution.
Going to Iraq to help the ppl from a tyrranical leader, and having more innocent ppl die since '03 than in the 25 years of rule by said "tyrranical leader".
The US economy picks up during times of war(well for some anyway).

He first invented the dynamite. After had seen what it was used for, he founded the Nobel Price.PureFodder wrote:

Also invented Dynamite, which has killed untold millions of people in accidents and wars.
True, but there has still been many ppl killed by dynamite. In Canada when we were building the railway we used chinese immigrants to put TNT into caves and them a-holes would blow the tunnel up while the chinese were still inside.Blehm98 wrote:

Doesn't count as irony. The Berlin Wall's goal was to keep the citizens IN. The US's wall is to keep illegals OUT.Xblade-3o5- wrote:

Not true in the least. Nitroglycerine is very unstable. Now, the reason we don't use it for military weapons now is that we have explosives that are many, many times more powerful than nitro but weigh the same or less.Blehm98 wrote:

And if you set a stick of dynamite on fire, it will explode. Without any problem whatsoever. If a stick takes a hard enough shock (I forget exactly the number of g's, but its not that much, somewhere on the level of 400 or so) it will explode.
I realize it's just semantics, but TNT is not the same thing as dynamite. TNT is trinitrotoluene, and looks like this:PluggedValve wrote:

Dynamite is nitroglycerine, and looks like this:

Pro life people who don't adopt one of the teaming masses of completely fucked children that would have been better off if they had been abborted.

Napoleon was the greatest military leader of old, and he was French.
Irony is when someone flames another person for not using spell check, then proceeds to make grammatical errors in his own post!HURLEY wrote:

I used spell check, i may not have the right "you're" but its better than misspelling religion.... but ok.chittydog wrote:

Not to mention that half of you are talking about current events and this is supposed to be about history.
But since i have nothing to add to this thread, i say good day.

Irony is arguing on the internet.

Irony... Asking people to put up historically correct ironies on a forum and having everyone rehash their same old mantras.
Well said, stryyker. I'll let Hurley find his other grammar errors on his own, rather than arguing with him about them.
Having people post ironic things that aren't ironic at all seems to have a whiff of irony.
the irony, in fact, is that ironic statements about irony are ironically ironic to the irony in which the ironic statement is implied with irony.DesertFox423 wrote:

lol, irony.

Here's irony:
GW Bush 'fighting terror' in Iraq when Osama Bin Laden is in either Afghanistan or Pakistan, using several times as many troops in Iraq than that being used in Afghanistan (a hugely larger country than Iraq).
GW Bush 'fighting terror and securing the homeland' in the middle east while the southern border of the US remains freely crossable to anyone with the ability to walk/swim.

Oh sorry. I never realised that he was actually in Iraq. It all makes sense now. Thanks for clearing that up.usmarine2007 wrote:

The $50,000 distribution costs of Birth of a Nation were put up by 28 yr old movie novice Louis B. Mayer (of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer fame). He made $500,000 off of the film (in 1915 dollars (!!)) and went on to become one of Hollywood's biggest moguls.
