Gave D2 (and expansion pack) to a friend after I beat Baal with all the classes.  IMO Diablo is harder to beat than Baal was.

It wasn't really a game about beating the chars it was about building up your charater, IMO it's like a Barbie doll for nerds.... Could you beat baal with the classes alone of with a team?

Exactly. And a bunch of new loot's been added.

Oh Lol I missed the silly type.. Hahah that was a joke my bad for not picking it up.. Maybe I'll start playing again, after a while I started with the maphacking(I Know it's bad but that game is only fun for so long). There's new Loot? even leeter stuff?

It's fun online, as long as you find cool people to play with.. you can usually find two or three people to do missions with. I like it for the years I played everyday.. But I tired of it, was thinking of trying WOW but got scared that I'd get addicted, so I tried COH and got bored of that real quick

played it for two years to the point i was having nightly dreams about it, lvl 99 barb, 99 amazon, 99assassin, 99 sorc  all with the best perfect items you could get for them

then i just stopped playing one day

80 Light Sorc > Str Glitched, items worth $70 or more on Ebay. 35K Light Dmg(9xLight Gcs w/ Mods +6str? 40+Life? 5/20/20 Anni, P Sorc Torch )
83 Ele Druid > 9k Nado, 5k Hurricane

I was already into computer gaming at the time D2 came out, but anticipation of its arrival (pre-ordered) drove me into the world of  MUD's.

I stopped playing after all my chars got wiped. It sucked. Bad.

Collect flawless gems. Convert them into perfect gems until you have 20 perfect gems. Trade them for your high runes. Works on and off ladder.

Order of Operations for Diablo Noobs:

1. Create hammer paladin. Level to 90 (NoTrist-15, NoTomb-20, NoCow-24, Ancients-25, NoBaal-40, NiBaal-60, HeBaal-90). Only as much strength and dex as you need for gear, no energy (if you play ladder), rest into vitality.

2. If you play ladder, get an act 2 merc and give him a polearm with the following runes: Ral, Tir, Tal, Sol. Ni/HeCountess often drops Sols, if you can't trade for one.

Insight     4 Socket Polearms/Staves     Ral + Tir + Tal + Sol     Level 10-17 Meditation Aura When Equipped (varies)
+35% Faster Cast Rate
+200-260% Enhanced Damage (varies)
+9 To Minimum Damage
180-250% Bonus to Attack Rating (varies)
Adds 5-30 Fire Damage
+75 Poison Damage Over 5 Seconds
+1-6 To Critical Strike (varies)
+5 To All Attributes
+2 To Mana After Each Kill
23% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

3. Collect keys (HeCountess-Key1, HeSummoner-Key2, HeNih-Key3. Along the way you'll pick up flawless gems. Keep and convert to perfect gems.

4. Trade keysets (3 of each key) and sets of 20 pgems for high runes.

5. If you can't mooch an Enigma off someone, trade for these following runes: Jah, Ber. Find three-socketed armor with at least over 450 defense and strength requiring no more than 120. This will allow you to search for items more quickly.

Enigma     3 Socket Body Armor     Jah + Ith + Ber     +2 To All Skills
+45% Faster Run/Walk
+1 To Teleport
+750-775 Defense (varies)
+ (0.75 Per Character Level) +0-74 To Strength (Based On Character Level)
Increase Maximum Life 5%
Damage Reduced By 8%
+14 Life After Each Kill
15% Damage Taken Goes To Mana
+ (1 Per Character Level) +1-99% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items (Based On Character Level)

6. Once you're set, build a zeal/smiter. One point to smite, max zeal, max fanat, max sac, max holy shield, rest into smite or defiance. Follow this guide: http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=425449. Level him to 85+. Now you can take keys you earn and get +3 skill torches with uber tristram runs. If you have a friend, get them to use battle orders or enchant on you to make things easier.

Tal Rasha's isn't really that valuable, but I agree that D2's trading community isn't the friendliest to newbies.
