Gamespy or who ever the $&@% looks after punkbuster, should seriously invest in a new version. I am sick of playing inf only maps where 50% of the players are cheating..

Nah, that can't be it. Plus this is a serious thread. EA should find all websites that are hosting these hacks, and get one, and then figure out how they are beating PB SS's
i'm very sure there's a combined thread about complaints.
PB does their best to root out new hacks, and do a much better job than you think. Sorry man, but there is no way 50% of IO people hack. Being completely serious, I would rate it at .5% max.

Oh, and, people say that other people are cheating when they are simply trying to cover up for their own lack of skill. Granted, some people out there do hack, but some people are just better than you. Or me. Get used to it.
I'm sure that they do and I'm also quite sure that many players send/contribute hacks they've found so they can be stopped. The problem is that no matter what PB does there will always be kids hacking and it's shitty, but that's life.Vantage wrote:

the best way to deal with hackers, press esc, click disconnect, look for another server and play in the new server. that way your blood pressure will drop, and you can have a fun time instead of pulling your hair out because of these one shot kill hacks.
People always go on about hackers, I'm always getting accused of using aimbots etc. Yet I've very rarely seen anything to suggest that much hacking goes on.

Hacking is not a large problem in the BF sereis. If you play CSS or CoD2 you would know what hacking is and how to identify hackers. You see BF2 is by nature hard to hack so hacking companies like msx need to charge more to create hacks for them. Also the version of pb that runs with BF2 is very advanced and can pick up many hacks, unlike VAC which is very poor at dectecting cheat programs.
Gotta say i reckon there are a hell of a lot more cheats out there than you think. I`m a pretty lousy infantry player but i know when i`ve been had after unloading half a clip into someone for them to calmly pull their rifle out and whack me with one shot !!! This was backed up when a couple of months ago i was playing on one of the Karkand FF-OFF servers there were lots of accusations of hacking going back and forth, so the Admin paused the game, told everyone that they take screenies of everyone playing every 30 secs or so and anyone caught cheating would be reported. The server was half empty inside a minute !!!

Hacks cannot change your health, weapon damage, or anything like that. That is all calculated server-side. If a hack were to modify that, they'd be breaking the law big-time.

I'm going to now discredit the four biggest misconceptions about "h4xkcsz".
1. "You shot me through a wall." Server-side.
2. "I shot you and you didn't die." Server-side or lag or you didn't deal enough damage.
3. "You killed me in one shot, AIMB0TZC." Server-side or boom-headshot.

Play air maps, get good with the jet, and rape the hell out of anything that moves. You will forget cheaters even exist.

I've gotta say, in the 1.5 years (nearly) that I've been playing this game, I can probably count on one hand the number of times i was SURE someone was hacking. Other times I've gotten owned I can attribute to a number of things:
1) I was playing poorly.
2) Hit registration and lag problems.
3) I was at my best, but the other player was simply better than me.
Take your pick of the above, but they probably can be attributed to 99% of the instances of you getting your ass handed to you.
