I was like you when building my latest system and couldn't decide between the two. Where did you see these performance benchmarks. Most of the benchmarks I have seen are either swayed AMD or Intel it looks like it just depends on who's testing it and what benchmark programs they are using.mikeyb118 wrote:

If your gonna go with an AMD chip get an FX-62 or 5200+ if you can. I can push my FX-62 up pretty high, although not as high as a C2D would go. May I ask though what the point of this thread was if your not gonna listen to the 10,000,000,000,000 recommendations for Intel?Neoburn_1035 wrote:

What if I switch to AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Windsor 2.6GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor. The review above seams to point to this chip as being superior when overclocked.
