I have always been an AMD guy. I found out that the Intel shares the 4 megs of cashe between the 2 pox. Which AMD does not do. This would allow you for example to run BF on one pox. and teamspeak on the other. The Intel will use only the cashe it need for teamspeak and ten allocate the rest to the pox running BF.

Not a chance, look at any comparison test between the two, AMD always comes out on top, not always by a lot but it still does. I have an AMD X2 but I have no bias. I was like you when building my latest system and couldn't decide between the two. Then I looked at some sites that compared Intel and AMD and ALL OF THEM showed AMD come out on top in both performance and price. Anyone who just says "Intel is good" (or "AMD is good") hasn't compared them.
Go with AMD.
Bullshit.

You are talking complete nonsense. X2 chips are extremely weak when compared to C2Ds. The E6300 which is comparable with the X2 4200+ massively outperforms it and overclocked it easily outperforms an FX-62.

The X6800 and QX6700 are completely untouchable by any of AMDs most recent CPUs. AM2 FTL.

Where did you see these performance benchmarks. Most of the benchmarks I have seen are either swayed AMD or Intel it looks like it just depends on who's testing it and what benchmark programs they are using.

Also what about Vista, XP Pro, or XP Pro 64

That C2D with that chipset will not disappoint at all. As the poll has indicated Intel has the lead for now and in the foreseeable next few years. If there is any uncertainty left in your mind pick up any non-biased (The ones not completely bogged down with ads) magazine like Maximum PC.

I found these reviews for the Processors.

E6600

Opteron 1218

Does anyone know what the difference between the E6600 435 xb and the E6600 267 x9?

What if I switch to AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Windsor 2.6GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor. The review above seams to point to this chip as being superior when overclocked.

If your gonna go with an AMD chip get an FX-62  or 5200+ if you can. I can push my FX-62 up pretty high, although not as high as a C2D would go. May I ask though what the point of this thread was if your not gonna listen to the 10,000,000,000,000 recommendations for Intel?

Well I was hoping people could give me personal experience, and some real numbers to go by. I have never ran an Intel only AMD so I am kind of Shooting in the dark.

Verifying Client date what is that? . Over all gaming is great from TOCA 3 on Ultra High to to Battlefield 2142 Titan on High no lag. this with only one video card I can't wait to get a second 8800, 2nd 74 gig raptor and 2 more gigs of ram. As For the Linksys router. I love the QoS Stuff, you can change the routing priority, along with DynDns update built in. What more could you need out of a home router. Now the Numbers.
