C&C, was the best game ever, it owns of the others except tiberian sun, which came close.
Tiberian sun graphics were truly amazing.

I agree, as ive played the beta and the demo and am a TA fan, however this will also be great fun, much more basic but still great fun.
just added some more vids
Sorry i didnt add the patch 3 days ago when it came out but i was temp banned.
I thought Generals and C&C3 were good efforts. They're passable games by themselves. You can't hold everything up to predecessors. If anything, C&C3 deserves to be held under more scrutiny than Generals, because it is a sequel and Generals is not.Mushroomcar wrote:

If Supreme Commander would get its cloggish pathing fixed, I would be happy.Pernicious544 wrote:

Heres one little pic of NOD i got , bloody mechs are awesome lol
Yeah im gunna update all the units to be completely accurate.
You can upgrade your mechs 4 times: flame tank, stealth tank, scout bike, laser tank. You can cannibalize the parts from yourself, allied and enemy Nod units.bullit wrote:

C&C was good and then Red Alert hit the sweet spot. Tiberian Sun was fun, but it was not in the same league. RA2 was fun in places but the whole idea was stupid. The storyline ran RA (soviet victory) > C&C (gdi victory) > TS, and then suddenly RA2 is pitching that the allies won RA. It felt like an unnecessary cash-in and the gameplay felt nothing like RA.
Generals, for me, was the first C&C game to get back to the RA feel during combat, but it felt cheesy. From some of the cutscenes C&C3 looks a bit cheesy too, but I will try it to see if they have held onto the glory days.
Let's all stop for a moment to remember the very amusing Dinosaur levels in C&C: Covert Ops and the Ant levels in Red Alert: Counterstrike.

This thread deserves a bump...here's some of my own screenshots :
Zone Troopers are the only GDI infantry units that have Heavy Armor (powered armor users FTW !) and are the only GDI infantry capable of walking through Tiberium without taking damage. And yes, you do get a warning now everytime any of your infantry susceptible to Tiberium exposure walks into a patch of Tiberium
P/S : Zone Troopers wield Railguns as their weapons !
Much like in Generals, your Airfield can only hold a maximum of 4 aircraft. Think of the Orcas as the equal of the Comanche in Generals, only that it needs to go back to reload after each attack.
[b]Need I say more about this ?

Yeah I noticed that too. Anyone play against a Brutal GDI Steamroller AI? I got my ass handed to me in ~15 minutes and I've been playing C&C since it came out!TimmmmaaaaH wrote:
not sure if anyone has found this out, but using the "n" key you can play NOD in the demo. (but scrin just crashes because the files aren't included).
edit: also you can use the first letter of each AI mode to choose that.
lol stress test. like 60 tanks, 20 juggernaughts , and like 40 apc's. never thot 8 fps could be so fun. and i rofled right out of my chair when i clicked the juggernaught and he said "I'm the Juggernaught!"
and of course the destruction via Ion Cannon

Okay, regarding the AI in C&C 3:
It's handing my ass to me. Literally.
No joke about it, beating the comp on hard mode (or *SHUDDERS* Brutal Mode) means you have to super-micro your army and have all the counter-units at your disposal to their rush. And when they rush, they don't f*ck around--I've seen upwards of ten or more tanks coming at my base at once, and my base defenses don't last too long when that happens. Plus, when they want a point, they will KEEP rushing that point until you send a smackdown their way, or they roll you over.
I gotta hand it to EALA, the AI is clearly a couple notches beyond what I expected. Five very distinct AI types means for one hell of a challenge--god forbid if you take on more than one enemy at a time at the Brutal AI. I've even seen flanking opportunities--if you have base defenses on one end of an area, I've seen them circle around to hit the other side the next time they attack--woe was me when I saw a whole bunch of kamikaze units come out of nowhere. The only weaknesses I've seen in the AI is the massive amount of refineries they build early on--easy targets if you can get to them with a sufficient task force. Currently my best GDI tactic has been the use of APC's to shield my infantry while they pummel a position--no joke, APC's could be the next humvee (in terms of Generals). Mix-n-match is the next tactic, combining tanks with apc's filled with anti-infantry capabilities (snipers or grenadiers--zone troopers too), and hoping the enemy doesn't follow up with a second wave.
Edit: I'm a decent RTS guy too, I spent a lot of time with the original C&C, Tiberium Sun, RA2, and Generals--that says how much things have changed since those times with AI competence.

I honestly have to say that it was everything I expected it to be. I.E., not SpCm. It was an amped-up Generals-flavored Tiberium game, and I wasn't too disappointed. I can barely stomach older strategy games with some of the UI limitations now, so it did need to continue.Vilham wrote:

All I have to say is that I really like the new C&C. The capability to increase the build queue means faster production of units (but also burns your credits faster lol) means the gameplay is increased even faster since each player can move up to the highest tech tree in less than 15 minutes.
But yes, you need a lot of micromanagement as well since you need to handle more structures to build your units or other structures.
