Wasnt that the Army that tried 11 times? And yeah, as usmarine mentioned, with the current civilian issue and rules of engagement, how can the military do what its supposed to do when people back home will complain and gripe about oh... oh my god, the marines just killed another man. its like... wtf... we cant kill um, but no one wants us to die either... well guess what... SOMEONE HAS TO! let the military do its freakin job and stop whining. and we can win against the real enemies... IF... IF... and IF... you let the military do its job without criticism about how it conducts training and how it conducts its operations. we have morals in the military too, so dont think we're all robots.

You should pay more attention to the training of the main infantry.. you can't win a war just with special forces. If you had such difficulties in iraq , how will you win a theorical war agains Iran or China??

Those are real enemies.. not the iraq.

The guy is full of fucking shit.  I've never heard of such a thing.  I stopped watching it after he said "Expendable fucking youth."  Apparently that guy does not know the fucking pride that comes with serving his service and country.  I would bitch slap that mother fucker in a heart beat.  USMC are the people who fucking clear the way for us ground troops.  They deserve more than some going around making those videos.  I also can't believe he put the Nazi shit with USMC, I just about died.................

There is no emotional control training, that is for the Air Force while we attended trigger control training. Hey someone has to fight the battles in the streets and in the field. I just didnt think we would have to battle our own countrymen back home.

??? I am not following. I am leading.  Care to explain all of the violent gangbangers, drug dealers, theives, murderers, Hillary Clinton, rapists and others who are violent? Well gee, they werent in the Marines so cant possibly be violent! Being a Marine does not make you violent. Being a Marine and having civilians who are to pansy ass to defend their countrymens way of life, constantly tell you that you must be violent, makes you violent.

Violence is the last thing they will use to get the job done.  Who in the right fucking mind likes to kill people.  No one. But, they do what they have to do to survive and get the job done.  And you want to know another thing?  The only reason you think that we are violent is caused you only probably watch the news.

Well, actually, I believe Army Rangers go through emotion control.  You know, get pumped but don't get stupid, be able to turn it off like a switch.

And not to sound like a dick (but I know I will), I'm not trying to "battle" you.  I'm trying to explain the difference between being an idiot with no temper control and no common sense and being a logical and cool headed person.

Oh and BTW, I was in the USAF, and I went through extensive psych training for MP duty.  It isn't that difficult.

I will put it this way for you....

They ran over Saddams army twice.  Now, you cannot fight religious extremists and try to protect as many innocent lives at the same time.  Have no doubt, if the full might and force of the Marines had been unleashed on Fallujah, it would be flattened.
Well that's not possible though.... you can't think of bombing a city still occupied by civilians. In these situation however , you should have the advantage of advanced weapons and tactics , which didn't result in the facts ( if it was gone this way )

Out of curiousity, any of you American military buffs know which US military unit can wear the 1st Marine Division patch?

For the record they can only wear it down on their fore-arms instead of their shoulders.

Are you talking about the Guadalcanal patch, or the actual originals designed for Marines involved in the 4 major battles in the pacific during ww2?

Technically, both.

Considering the USMC got rid of all unit patches on the 24th of September, 1947, that would include all 4 of the known division patches created during World War II.  However, currently there is a US military regiment that can officially still wear the patch, and more specifically it is the 1st Marine Division patch, which does have the name "Guadalcanal" going down the lengthwise part of the patch.   For the record, this is because of the regiment's service in that named campaign.

I hope this clarifies things up a bit

Just listened to the audio...kept an open mind till he mentioned how life started after the they got out of the service.  The point that lost me was when he said they could have been making their first $50K.  That gave me a clue to his priorities in life.

Commie has a point about keeping an open mind, but I couldn't glean much insight out of this guy.  Commie, save the open minded line for a more worthy topic.  This audio had maybe a sentence or 2 that was not just trying to badmouth the Marines for whatever reasons.

All you former or current marines and other service members...thanks.

You're on the right track, it was the Army's 164th infantry regiment (North Dakota National Guard boys) that earned the privelege of wearing the division patch (the only known army regiment to do so).

Also, these guys were known as the "164th Marines" and were the first to bring in the M-1 Garande to Guadalcanal (envy of the marines).  I find it interesting how little is known of the army's involvement, mainly because reporters were attached to the marine units and the army was under a strict black out.

I hope you find this a bit informative.

Irony: Idiot creates badly written and filmed, heavy-handed "documentary" about how Marines are violent, robotic drones which then produces violent, robotic drone responses from Marines.

This just furthers my belief that a human writer cannot create comedy funnier than the comedy that spontaneously generates itself from humanity.
