sure the events that some of us go through during are most certainly friggin traumatic. but if you honestly think that a person who goes through something like taking the life of another human and shrivels up and decides to not do anything you are mistaken. if that were the case, you would never have any combat troops. all your soldiers would be green because the veterans would be too traumatized to continue. maybe someday all the shit i did and saw will catch up to me. but, and im learning more about as i interact with other veterans in the reserves, im not the only one who still seeks that year long adrenaline rush i had when i was over there. and im noticing myself doing things and acting in ways that closely imitate those feelings and scenarios. i guess thats why im in the punk ass reserves. im trying to go back but im loving my civie life too much so i guess this is a happy medium for the time being. commiechipmunk, this is one of those occasions when you just have to admit ignorance of the facts. war movies are just that, movies. there is no standard on how a soldier should act when he gets home, and i refuse to play the scarred war veteran. Damn it, im only 24 years old.

I know someone who is 31 who was in the royal marines for 7 years. He i believe was in the military, ofc i will never know if someone else was in the military, it would require me respecting them for a start, and most people who claim to be in the military on this forum i dont respect based on what they have said.

The US Army/Marine Corps/Something should invent a prone-jumping suit which allows you to go from jump as if standing from a proned position in a fraction of a second. Plus they should invent C4 charges which can be thrown up to 20m. And bunnyhopping shoes with jet-enhanced springs to allow soldiers to hop across the battlefield.
