We say that in Australia too. Pop and Soda sound weird down here.

It all depends on where you are from. I was born in NY and raised around a northern family, so I call it pop. I now live in florida, down here they call it soda. Its mainly a regional thing...

It's called soda or coke (no matter the brand) down here in Texas.

If someone orders a pop at a restaurant, they get a weird look, and then everyone in the restaurant knows that they're from up north.
