If I wanted to run Bf2 on a higher graphic setting without lag, should I upgrade my graphics card or my memory? If it depends on what I have already, I'll tell you guys...

it kind of does depend on what RAM and what video card you currently have.

if you have enough memory to run the game, then i would assume a better video card would help you out more.

also, a better sound card will help out lag as well.  right now i use onboard sound but i just bought an x-fi soundcard yesterday...i've heard that it will allow me to run higher FPS and will give me better sound quality.

If you want faster loading and verification times get more RAM. If you want better graphics get a better graphics card

agreed..... I have 2GB now - and in BF2 on load, around 70-80% is used.. therefore the game, if u want 2 play in high settings really does need the extra ram and graphics.

ummmm... actually both. Becuase even with 1 gb memory, your x200 intergrated graphics will chew the memory out to low fps and a new graphics would not cut it because 512 will still give you horrible loading speeds and low fps. Only option for high is to upgrade both and even the processor if your are running a 2500+. Oc'ed 2800+ or 3000+ is suffcient to ply Bf2 well with a good memory and gfx.

your computer is really quite low end.  The best bet would be upgrading to a 6600gt for like 100 or 150 and buying some value corsair ram (like 1 GB) and Fahrenheit, my old system specs were basically the same excpet i had a 9800 PRO and my new system is basically the same as your future system!  (i guess great minds think alike... just kididng... not)

I have 400 dollars to my name at the moment (no job while in school). Reccomend the best Card/Memory combo that I can achieve with the money por favor.

And tell me where I can find them as well

assuming your running agp for a graphics card?  if so you can't get a 7600gt and 2gb of ram for less than $400.  what's your processor?  can get a nice processor for under $100 now a days too.  think amd 64 3800+.  that's socket 939 though, what you have there?
