Hey, most of you should know I am relatively young and would like to join the military when I get out of high school.  So here's something I need help with: Me and my friend in English would like to start a JROTC program for our school (Newport Harbor High School) and don't know where to start or how to get anything going.  So far what we know is that if we start a club and it gets large enough we can get the ROTC program set up, but, that won't be for a while.  Anyone have suggestions?

You start with the Area Manager for that section of the country and work your way down to the principal. Then you have to find a retired military guy (E-7 or higher) to be the instructor. It's more complicated than that, but that's the basics.

I just contacted my principal about a JROTC program (dana hills high school), He said he'd think about it. But everyone at my school is a panzy and wouldnt enlist.

Contact your local military recruitment center. They can usually give you the direction and support you need.

Man.....I found that most ROTC officers sucked as butter bars and 1st louies.  I suggest going enlisted for 4 years, and then getting into an officer program.  You will get much more respect.

Yea very true. I have a couple of prior enlisted Captains and LT's in my squadron and theyre probably the most looked up to guys we have in my unit.
