"The agency said waves as high as 3.3 feet"

NSGS tsunami zones define a danger radius from the point of the quake/slide, all the way down to the equator. So if it was in Alaska; Hawaii, Japan, SP Islands, and the NW coast of the US is at risk

Well Japan told it's resident to flee the coast... we will see. It's not supposed to hit Hawaii until 5 am est.

We have a national alarm system that sounds every month for testing, and with me living like a block from the waimanalo beach im afraid i wont hear it and be swept away so instead i wont fcking be playing tonight. Damn only if it happened on a work day.

There's a tsunami, and you're worried about not being able to play on a Friday night?

That's about the same size as the SF quake (but I'm not sure which one )

That's a freaking huge quake. But not on the scale of the 2004 one, because the scale doesn't work like that.

What am I missing? I'm talking about the quakes not the waves.

(Edit: I know there are other factors that come into account with the waves)

Asian/Indian Ocean one was really bad because there wasn't a proper warning system like you guys have.
