80% of my friends use JILK as the primary FPS keys, something we invented in college because of the wider selection of secondary keys in a closer proximity. We are having an argument with a WADS fan on which is better.

We were wondering if there are any other smart JILK fans out there.

Honestly, I use a whole different kind of key set. I move forward using my right mouse also.

WASD ftw, I have a G15 and use the G8, 9, 11, and 12 keys for extra buttons too, not to mention my thumb buttons on my mouse.

i use esdf. it puts quite a few more keys in your reach without totally altering the feel of wasd.

up, down, left, right. i broke my right hand 2 years ago, so could i couldnt use use the mouse, then i learned how to use the mouse on the left side

IJKL is pretty dumb. your pinky can't reach as far as your thumb, so your hand should be on the left half of the keybaord to compensate.

Sprint = Right Shift

Prone = Keypad 0

Jump = Keypad 7

Pickup Kit = Keypad 4

Knife = Keypad 1

I don't know what your hands look like but my pinky, as well as any pinky I have ever seen, is longer than my thumb. Plus, thumbs are sideways in relation to your other fingers, hence its label "opposable". Your logic is flawed. Thanks for trying

WASD because:

-All my games come pre-setup for it and I don't feel like resetting all my keys and going through that "ZOMG CONFLICT FOUND TEH FAIL LOLZ" stuff.
-I'm used to it.
-I actually play on 99% of other people's computers without going "wait...what keys do what in default?"

Edit: No. I CAN actually play on 99% of blah blah blah.

Sorry i meant left shift.. doh but its the same but you have more keys above you to bind to certain weopens.
For example in q1 had q gor riacket laucher w for lightning gun and e for nail gun.

Arrow keys:
Arrow keys for movement, space set to jump, crouch as right control, reload as left shift, sprint as keypad 0.
Fire is left mouse button, secondary is right mouse, button 3 (forward one of the extras) is the comm rose (backup is Q), and button 4 (just behind the other one) is prone (with the backup of /). Weapon select is with the mouse wheel, and it clicks to get firing modes.

I manage just fine; I played the piano as a kid, and so learned to stretch my little finger over to hit notes. This translates to gaming as being able to sprint-jump easily.
The 4-button mouse only increases the viability of this, although I'm beginning to wish I'd splashed for the cordless model; the cables for the monitor, cable modem, computer power, monitor power keyboard, speakers, webcam, mouse and USB extension leads make things a little crowded back there. I need to have a clearout.

with he kb slid to the left, you feel the direction keys and your thumb and pinky can quickly locate the others, most of my functionality is on the mouse ...
lmb=fire
mouse3=alt
rmb=jump
thumb1=reload
etc. ...
