I'd rather use the AK-101 over the G36 when playing medic, but the G36 is still a hell of a weapon for burst fire at ranged targets. The M24 I use whenever the L96 isn't available (like on Bf2:SF). All in all, though, I like many of the stock weapons in Bf2, with but a few exceptions.

When i play on mec or insurgents i use the Ak-101 but when Im on usmc i use M16A2
I used to just use the standard submachine gun and carbines, but now that I have the DAO-12, P90, and G-36C, I never use standard guns except the pistols. Also, when I need to get my badges, I use default. However, I like the unlock weapons much more.
AK47: good dmg for the assault rifle and a grenade launcher.

Type 88 I know one really good place in wake for this.
