Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is time to celebrate... The game Battlefield 2, our child that binds us to these forums, has reached the memorable age of 6 months. Moreover it is Christmas so we need something to celebrate and keep ourselves busy during the coming holidays.

But what shall we do, play even more? Sure, but we would do that anyway. No, some of the local players already reached more than 1000 hours of gaming time, so no need to stimulate even more playtime. What else is there to do?

Well this might come as a shock but in about 4 days, this forum, this community, will also reach the memorable age of 6 months… Thus we are celebrating a Christmas Battlefield 2 community birthday

What better way is there to threat ourselves with some community movies! Here is a list of must see movies:

Land of Confusion

Description:
Land of Confusion was truly awesome!

My favourite part is the slow-mo during the ammo fight when the guys are hanging in air, then fall back down. It reminded me of matrix or something, and the music for that scene was awesome. Even the little game remarks, like "ammo right here" were awesome. That one bit could have been a great video all by itself.

The song Land of Confusion was also a great choice for the video. Although I thought the Big Band era music was a bit dated for this game. But those older songs did provide a good contrast between the faster modern songs. The transition between the old song and the new "This Blood" when they reach the top of the crane was an awesome moment. Though I could have done without the bj scenes.

The idea of using the no-kit bug was awesome. It had some genuinely original, funny and wierd/mysterious scenes. (dragged on a bit near the end though).

Having said all that, I should also say I have never attempted such an ambitious video making effort. It worked well, and you all are to be congratulated, Thanks for sharing it with us! I am adding this to my little collection of videos that I have stored in my computer and I watch it often.

I am looking forward to the sequel!

Mine

Director:

Description:
What do you need to make the most hilarious BF2 movie? BF2, Monty Python, more Monty Python, and even more Monty Python. Add a few jokes where you point a finger at helicopter whores, a couple word games and a lot of wicked switches in music, style and footage… What’s the result of this mixture?

Mine by the Snoken productions. It was a classic and a must have seen the day of release. If we were to hand out Oscars to community movies… It would win in every category.
The movie is so good that all other production will be automatically be compared to this one… It is Doom for community movies.

Need I say more? Just see the movie!

Description:
Another great release from Snoken. Music, jokes, stunts, more stunts and WTF can you do that? How did they… No no is this the same game that I’m playing? One thing is sure… they are NOT getting the keys for my car… One advise to the USMC, NEVER EVER let them into a real plane… NEVER!!!

When compared with the movie Mine (which you should never ever do) a little less LOL and a whole lot more WTF???

Tha Tha That’s all folks… (for now )
Cheers,

PS2.: If you have something to do with these productions and you feel somehow mistreated, or you don’t want to see your stuff here, please PM me.

Okay… The post above is just the beginning. The party is in honour of the community, thus the ability to add something to this list is for the forum as well.

If you made a BF2 movie or if you encountered a BF2 movie somewhere and you believe it to be must-have-seen material, post a poll in the forums (BF2 chatter or BF2FS chatter). If the community (you all) believes it to be the top of the best, I’ll add it to this list. When both the movie and the description are the best of the best… It might end up in the wiki: The gathering point of the best materials from the forum.

What do you need to do:

* Make a poll yes/no where people can vote if they like it or not.
* Add following titles, with the required info:

Title of the footage

File:
A working file location where people can either see or download the movie (for free, without required registration)

Director:
If not you who earns the credits of this movie (name or nick)

Community:
Where can the director be contacted, or where does this material originate from

Description:
Add a short synopsis of the movie (to much is never good, so let’s say max 250 words)
End with whom wrote the text (if not you add reference to original location)

If you have comments or do you feel there is more needed in this list, just add your two cents to this thread
Cheers,
R

PS.: I’ll be posting a few poll examples soon, so you can get your stuff here soon

Sorry not to link the files and write according the suggested template, but in addition to the above videos (I <3 snoken) search for "How not to be seen", "Stunts regeneration" and "3V 3Viators". If nowhere else, you can find them at least from a finnish site http://www.battle.fi/index.php?page=60& … at_index=0

Lots of more there too. Problem is there is only so much time in the world and so many crapola videos Please do share if you find the good ones!

Damnit i wish i could download the videos, but alas i cant. You see here in South Africa we have DSL caps, and i can only have 5gigs of info uploading/downloading a month...damn i wish i could see them

How do you play games online? Is it limited? Or is tapping 5gigs a month through playing games unheard of?

Uconn it would depend how much you play. Since bf2 from my experience is near impossible to play on another less than a 120 K connection I'm going to assume that the game eats up around 50 K a sec of info with the other 50 or so being your return info and other things like PB searching.

depending on how much you play you could hit 5 gigs playing Bf2 pretty easily or never. Playing older gameslike the delta force games you would never hit 5 gigs just play games. but you also have to factor in he/she does more than play games so you have to factor in all data transfer from dicking around online to playing games.

Hey I know a good music track for the Killjoy one. "You Again" by Shihad. It comes from an album entitled Killjoy. Yes I am a Shihad fan.
Music for all occasions, with one for Snipers - "Shot in the Head" from the album 'Love is the New Hate."

Just saw Land of Confusion. Judge by the distance in these two posts how long it took me to download, extract and play. I'd never heard of 'rar' files before so had to research them.

I have to say - weird, but awesome. That is a side of BF2 I've never seen before. Hey if any more are planned I'd like to be acontributer in any small way I can.

@ I.Ncredbl: to bad i cant find any download link on that finnish page but i owuldnt find a toilet when its marked in finnish

anyway im kinda astonished that so many ppl still dont know Winrar cause i use it for several years now.

Kimosabe that really is a pity with the 5gig cap i hope your ISP´s will soon get up to date, it was the same in germany a few years ago but now flat-rates get cheaper and cheaper each month.

Tyffera im glad you liked Land of Confusion and it was supposed to be different. there are so many stunt vids (2 done by myself ) that i wanted to do something different

Allllrighty then! Quick how to; The vids all start on that page with BF2 prefix and are filed under the title "Tiedostot". When clicked it will take you to page with more accurate info about that specific video, and the download starts from the disk image.

Anyways, down below are a few direct links which you might want to right click and "save as..."

How not to be seen (monty humour):
http://www.battle.fi/download.php?id=264

3V 3Viators (pretty good overall, mostly flying if I remember correctly):
http://www.battle.fi/download.php?id=266

Stunts regeneration (-good- stunt video from The Sir Community):

No I wasn't logged in, at least I don't think so. Maybe they check for something else then... shrug.

And hey no, the "How not to be seen is" is totally different piece from Mine. It's based on tthis Monty sketch: http://orangecow.org/pythonet/sketches/hownot.htm

On the same google result page there's this link, which I didn't test though. Try it yourself, if still interested
