Around the end of November rumors began to make print that Saudi Arabia would protect the Sunnis in Iraq if the United States bailed.
Of course, the Bush administration ignores the obvious, having done so pre-during and now after the invasion sends Cheney to kiss the ass of yet another trouble making party.

The man needs to be fenestrated.

The Saudis are mostly Sunni, the Sunnis are a minority in the Middle East. They see the U.S. as collaborators with the Shiites ( _LOL ) and feel threatened so they are sending literally truckloads of cash into Iraq to help the Sunnis fight.
I remember back in the day we use to say, don't worry about Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia hate them and won't let them get too large and powerfull. Well fuck me running Bush sure changed the balance of power in the region.
Could it be that he sought to piss of OBL, a hard core Wahabist/Sunni, by empowering the Shiites? Could it be that a larger conflict will further allow us to seize controll of the region?

So what do we do now?
We pull enough troops out of Germany and Japan and elsewhere to double the number of boots on the ground. We announce that the border is sealed and that any attempts to cross it will be met with deadly force. We inform Iran that we consider the road side bombs being produced in their country and detonated in Iraq to be an act of war. We bomb their ports, factories and infastructure. We also do not allow the Iranian government to quell the uprising that would be sure to follow in their country.
When it's over, we establish a inter Middle East Congress involving all the nations from the region. I'm sorry, but the borders of the entire Middle East were created by outside powers and perhaps it's time we rethink the map.

OBL sees himself as the next Caliphate who will unite the Muslim world under Sharia law and expand to erase all borders. He said after 9-11 that we are a paper tiger and would be driven from Iraq and the Middle East by pressure from within by weak pussified Americans who couldn't stomach a fight.
Think about that next time you hear a politician calling for some sort up time table withdrawl.
If we cut and run, he is right about us and we will have made him right. Worse, we will never be taken seriously again as a military superpower. Nukes don't mean shit if you are not going to use them.
We look weak right now. Our government has demonstrated nothing but rank incompetence.

Our military has performed briliantly, and I will always honor them.

Germany and Japan most likely won't do it just because we ask them, especially if we start even more shit with Iran and the rest of the middle east countries... also, trying to install a westernized Congress in the mid-east will just make us look like even more assholes than we are now to the rest of the world.

Also, I don't think saying "If you cross the border, we'll blow you up" will do jack sh*t anyway. 1. Iraqis inside the country will most likely not like it, the insurgents will most likely gain more men and support from the population, and 2. It will be impossible to stop every vehicle on the road from getting into the country.

So what do we do?

1. We nuke everything in the middle east to hell, most likely start a second cold war, world stability dissolves into anarchy, everybody dies.

2. We stop messing around with the middle east, stop telling them what we think is best for them, secure our own borders, restrengthen relations with our Allies across the globe, and improve on our own internal national security.

Let me get this straight... Iran wants to support the Shiites. Saudi Arabia wants to support the Sunnis. We're looking for a reason to leave right about now.

Where's the problem?

Let these Muslims kill each other. Hopefully, it will ultimately result in a situation where the Western World and Israel can "acquire" the resources of a weakened Middle East after these groups grievously injure each other.

Essentially, letting Iran and Saudi Arabia duke it out saves us the trouble of running a hopelessly chaotic Iraq. The self-destructive nature of Islam reveals itself more blatantly with each passing day....

You apparently don't think long term. You might have missed that I advocated bombing Iran, something I have refrained from in multiple threads for over a year until now.
The United States is at a pivotal moment, and the way forward, sadly for some, is not to carpet bomb yet.

We have to lead by example, something we have walked the edge of. We didn't go in there and start pumping the oil into U.S. tankers wholesale, like some conquering armies would have, but we did have twisted sexual mistreatment of prisoners. We haven't wiped out Sadr city, something I have advocated, and we build as we destroy.
It may be that they don't want a western style democracy, but it may also be that the survival of humanity cannot afford a world wide conversion at gunpoint to Islam. So we have to fight. There may come a time, and hopefully soon, when we unlease the dogs of war again in Iraq. Hopefully, a strong enough show of force will help us avoid the carpet bombing you desire.

I've said before, rivers of blood will flow before this is through, but a measured, rational approach is what we need. I've said before, we look weak right now we need to fix that.

Seriously i need you to take a world history course preferably one that focuses in this region just so you can realize how much of a lie a "2,000 year" history of conflict in this region due to Islam....for god's sake honestly can anyone in here not post brain washed polarized views or what?

How did we find Iraq in chaos? I honestly want to know how you've come to that conclusion. And if you are just referring to the Middle East in general i would not call the conflicts in the region "chaos" cause they are simply actions of the people within the region much of which is done with some thought and not some random bs.

You speak out against a religion and wish its eradication off the face of the earth, but some how you fail to see that this type of thought is the same hogwash bullshit your fighting against.

Brilliant Post man, thanks for caring and the effort. I actually contemplated reenlisting yesterday, when I heard about the Saudis announcement. It was just an idea, but one I might have to make a decision on someday.
They need to go to, but can that happen , probably not. They are a manifestation of our (US business dealing since the 1920s) own creating. ... Time is not on our side right now, and it will speed up until a true Victor is named, in this War.
