There might already be a guide for the Recon kit, but I was bored and had time to do one of my own!!

(Guide by Kptk92 ... Ha, now my name is here you can't copy it for websites ... unless your clever and don't copy and paste the guide without my name on ... SHUT UP BOY!! *Slap*)

---------- Guide Content ----------

Part I - Recon Overview
Part II - Basics
Part III - Squad Play
Part IV - Default Weapons & Equipment
Part V - Unlockable Weapons & Equipment
Part VI - Sniping
Part VII - Spec Ops
Part VIII - Conclusion

---------- PART I - RECON OVERVIEW ----------

- Recon is one of the most underestimated kits in the whole of BF2142. They can pick off enemies with their Sniper Rifles, and create havok with camoflague and tiny explosives using a Spec Ops style method.
- Some people also say that Recon is too powerful ... that may be true for some but Recon soldiers aern't indestructable ... if your good enough though, you can be the guy that turns the game upside down.

---------- PART II - BASICS ----------

- First off when you start out as a Recon, you have a Knife, Pistol and a Default Sniper Rifle ... always try to find a safe spot at the beginning ... never run out through open ground.
- If you can, join a squad with a Recon squad leader ... he'll usually go high up and you can follow him, but don't try and give your position away - always move on after 2-3 shots, unless you've already been spotted, then you'll have to move on.
- Your first unlock should be the APM Mine - they provide excellent support if your being chased or if you feel that your going to get knifed in the back while sniping.

---------- PART III - SQUAD PLAY ----------
Quotes from:
http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=51917

- Earlier today I was reading a topic about Shotguns in 2142 when a guy called kachunkachunk said something about the Zeller-H ("The Zeller is so brutal... I just cannot get as many points in other kits as the Recon, for some odd reason. Makes me a killing machine instead of a team player"). Another guy called Stormeye replied by saying:
"Taking down enemy snipers so that your team can advance faster = Team Play
Enemy not wanting to run openly in the field because of afraid of getting sniped out of the blue = Team Play
Kill enemies who are trying to capture a flag = Team Play
Spotting Enemies from a distance to give heads up to the team = Team Play"
I completely agree and that answer is why you should Squad up!

---------- PART IV - DEFAULT WEAPONS & EQUIPMENT ----------

EU (European Union):
- BJ-2 Combat Knife: The standard knife given to every class, in both factions. Preferably used with an enemy laying prone when he hasn't seen you. This is the best way to use the knife until you get the Camoflague, unless you feel like going kamikaze while your engaging the enemy.
- P33 Pereira Pistol: Standard pistol given to every class in the European Union. The most damaging out of the two pistols, and is really only used during close quarters combat. Recons use these usually when attacking on the ground, and capturing CPs.
- Morretti SR4 Sniper Rifle: This gun has the lightest scope (light blue) than all the other Rifles (doesn't make a difference, just a random fact ... or is it?!). Very high accuracy, and will kill in two shots (or one to the head). The standard Rifle for the European Union.

PAC (Pan Asian Coalition):
- BJ-2 Combat Knife:  The standard knife given to every class, in both factions. Preferably used with an enemy laying prone when he hasn't seen you. This is the best way to use the knife until you get the Camoflague, unless you feel like going kamikaze while your engaging the enemy.
- Takao T20 Pistol: The least damaging of the pistols, but the most accurate in my eyes. Has a different scope to the P33, so Recon soldiers will need to get used to both of the scopes if they feel like attacking CPs and opponents. Pan Asian Coalition Standard gun.
Park 52 Sniper Rifle: Once again, different scope colour from the Morretti (Green =)) and is also extremely accurate. Same as the Morretti, two shots to kill or one to the head. This is the standard Rifle for the Pan Asian Coalition.

---------- PART V - UNLOCKABLE WEAPONS & EQUIPMENT ----------

These Unlocks can be used for both the EU & PAC:

- APM Mine: Useful for defending postions, and covering you while you snipe, these mines are very sensitive (even to Friendlies!! be careful where you place them) and will trigger when enemies step on them or are very close to them. Crouching is a risk when getting past them but going prone allows you to avoid death, but you are vulnerable to enemy fire. Always have an Engineer near you to pick these mines up.
- RDX Demopaks: Ah, these beauties can take out Commander assests, mechs, tanks, infantry, Titan cores ... nearly everything!!  These are essential for taking out anything in your path.
- DysTek Scope x4: A big improvement for the Sniper Rifles. Can't aim for someone's head properly without zooming? No problem!! Use the mouse wheel to scroll in and get closer to your enemy. This doesn't take up an inventory slot.
- NetBat Fade Delay: This nifty piece of kit can be used to keep enemies on your radar for longer. Useful to find enemies behind cover. Yet again this doesn't take up an inventory slot
- Gruber 5 Stabilizer: Sick and tired of the Sniper Rifle Scope bobbing up and down? Use the Stabilizer to hold the scope for a few seconds to get that target in the tower!! Hold SHIFT when equipped in your inventory. Unfortunately, the Stabilizer takes one of them precious two inventory slots.
- IT-33 Optical Camoflague: This is one of the most highly debated pieces of kit - it can be used to take cover, approach mechs without them seeing you, and it can be used to attack and defend positions!! If you know how to use it properly (hide in the shadows etc.) you'll become virtually unstoppable!!
- Zeller-H Advanced Sniper Rifle: This beauty can kill unarmoured infantry in one shot (usually, sometimes you do fail!), if can also take out APMs, RDX, Medic & Ammo Hubs and most importantly - Infantry!! This is the ultimate rifle in any of the Battlefield games (my opinion =P) and is perfect for an expert marksman. NOTE: There is only 3 bullets per clip, so only use this is your an expert!!
- Lambert Carbine: The ultimate weapon for stealth and tactical combat, despite having a heavy recoil. It can aid that Recon soldier fighting on the ground, rather than high up with a Zeller. Add the fact that unlocks can be used in any faction and you have a perfect weapon for that Spec Ops loving guy!

---------- PART VI - SNIPING ----------

- At the beginning, always find a spot where the enemy leasts expects you to be (hiding behind a car or barrel etc) as they'll expect you to be high up, giving you a chance to take the 90% - if not, 100% - of the enemies health down.
- Usually your only given one chance to take someone out before they find out where you are, so always follow their head, or spot the enemy for someone else to take care of him. Always use a Sniper Rifle for spotting people if you can't kill.
- If your confronted with a mech, take cover and move on to another position so the mech doesn't spot you. If you are spotted again, find another position and so on.
- If an enemy is close to you, don't be afraid to pull out your pistol - a sniper rifle isn't going to do you good during this moment!! If the pistol fails, use your knife.
- Once the enemy is down, move on - unless your very confident you can kill the next guy who spots you.
- If the enemy moves, take note of your surroundings - what's your next move? Do you follow him? Or is there enemy infantry in your path? Is there any threats around you? Don't forget to spot people around to help out your team.

---------- PART VII - SPEC OPS ----------

- Once again, your not an Assault or Support guy, but your virtually just as good as an Engineer when it comes to explosives. Use RDX on Commander assests to stop them giving their team UAVs, Orbital Strikes etc. There are four assests in total and are dotted around enemy uncaps and their base at the end of a map.
- Use your Camo effectively - take cover in shadows, and creep around the back of enemies, then knife them - or, even quickly - shoot them down. Always look around you before moving with the Camo, as you can't wield a weapon with the Camo activated.
- Plant some RDX in an area which you think a mech or tank is gonna come. On Camp Gibraltar, for example, plant some by the entrance between Central Camp and Toll Station - but don't place it around the road, or it'll be seen and it will be avoided. Place it all on one side and use it all if you can - it triggers a massive explosion when activated.
- When using the Lambert Carbine, use it in short bursts - the recoil is pretty big. One shot could do but the Carbine isn't as powerful as the Voss or the Baur, so use it in short bursts, but when in close quarters combat, spray it at the enemy, but keep an eye on your ammo in the clip, as it tends to run out pretty quickly.

---------- PART VIII - CONCLUSION ----------

- The Recon is underestimated by many, and getting to a Recon soldier can sometimes be difficult when theres a mine field full of APMs guarding him in a high up tower.
- Mechs should also be on their guard - look around the roads for some RDX and avoid it, as the Recon is always watching when you least expect it.

Not really a guide. You're just stating the obvious.

*Sigh* I know ...

1. I was bored (read right at the top).
2. Some people don't know the word Obvious, even if it's poking them between the eyes!!
3. You've done a Support one, I've done a Recon one. We're even. =P

I took few glimpses at it and I dont like this part:

- Lambert Carbine: The ultimate weapon for stealth and tactical combat, despite having a heavy recoil.

Lambert has, I think, the smallest recoil of all guns.

Krylov could compete with that.

This guy is right. Only the LMGs have less recoil. The Lambert's disadvantage is it loses damage at shorter ranges than the others.
