like you would know "fine" in a society where everything from your Whopper to your milk is pumped with artificial chemicals... yea right. nothing personal about you, but America's food system is screwed up... the FDA is controlled by big money... end of story... really you don't want to get me started on this topic cause it just pisses me off that the Americans are being deceived and their health destroyed by poisoned food and "drugs" which we then attempt to fix with more drugs... why do you think health care is THE BIGGEST commercial enterprise in America, and other countries with HONEST food and drug controls have a higher health rate... the FDA is not doing its job, and the food companies and the drug companies are making hand over fist, at the expense of America's health...Towelly wrote:

Milk is the winnage, no stupid surveys or tests will prove otherwise.

Not when you have a soy allergy.IRONCHEF wrote:

Dude, milk's not bad, 4 reports saying milk's bad against hundreds who say its good for you is stupid, its like listening to those nagging PETA bastards that say meat is bad and that we should become vegans for the sole reason they say its better for us, here's what I have to say:IRONCHEF wrote:
I swear, it's like nobody here by serge has read a single link I've left. IT supports the things I'm saying and provides TONS more proof, logic, and understanding of this find than I can express. But no, typical DS&T people here who can't read and have to see a 30 second youtube video for their education... sad.
Anyway, at least turquoise has some educated concept of understanding of the dangers of milk. And yes, the big one gallon jugs of milk that is in every supermarket in this country is the milk I'm talking about that is mass produced from swollen, infected cows living in a cell of their own shit (for life). THey're pumped full of hormones, slathered with antibiotics, then milked on those slathered tits and that shit is processed, packaged, then sold for about $5 per gallon to the youth of america who guzzle it by the gallons.
And for the idiots who say "But I'm still alive..i never get sick..." Please..I never said you're going to drop dead, get sick and suddenly know its the milk!! I've said what was in milk, linked to credible sources and to some opinions based on studies that show many of the ills of milk. I've even done the testing myself to see results almost immediately that have stayed with me for about 2 years now.
For example..Milk is a flamatory food. If you have an ulcer, milk actually enflames the tissue shortly after it soothes it. Milk causes gastric acid that actually tears down your stomache lining and inflames ulcers. And not that I don't like to fart, because I do, but milk's gastric acid acceleration causes lots of gas! I suffer from psoriasis. When I stopped cow milk, the inflamation was cut in half. I also started reducing red meat and it went down even more! Amazing concept...reduce flamatory foods, go uninflamed! Funny the dairy ads don't mention those side effects.
There's plenty of truth out there folks. If you're even remotely concerned with your health, and mature enough to accept truth, you could find out plenty. The information age is upon us and you can see what milk does, how the dairy industry pays for it's good image (like tobacco did for years), and how you can live a much more healthy life.
Oh, and you guys are wrong..vegans DO live longer and have less nutritional deficiencies than meat eaters. I'm no vegan because I believe there's wisdom in moderation (and I know what a lean meat is), but they have way less cancers, less diseases, less "down time" and a greater life expectancy. But if you can't study such topics objectively..then you'll continue to just take what people tell you as fact.

I agree here, just like they say, everything in EXCESS is bad..:XDR:.PureFodder wrote:

Look deeply at pretty much anything we eat or drink and it begins to look pretty foul. The truth of the matter is yes milk may contain some small amounts of pretty unpleasant sounding things but IT'S ACTUALLY GOOD FOR YOU TO CONSUME SMALL QUANTITIES OF THINGS THAT AREN'T GOOD FOR YOU. Without these things your immune system goes crazy and you'll get alergies and asthma. Similarly with low level doses of radiation actually REDUCES the risk of getting cancer. We're set up to survive in a hostile world, when you remove all of the hostility things go wrong.
Who says there's nothing wrong with milk, you? You're saying that as your personal opinion, having not studied a thing, having not proven it with your own children, and leaving it at that? Or do you have an ounce of support (support without a money trail) for that?RicardoBlanco wrote:
There's nothing wrong with milk. If a baby or calf with a developing immune system can drink it so can we.
Ironchef you're a bit obsessed with this milk thing, pipe down! Sheesh... You're taking it too personal.IRONCHEF wrote:

And if you knew what you're talking about, you'd know that it is common practice to keep babies away from cows milk (where possible) for the first year. Babies should drink breast milk because it is actually made for human babies. Cows milk is made for calves because it has native cow proteins in it just as human breast milk has the essential building block amino acids and proteins in it for human babies. HOw is that concept not understood? Did you know in the 50's, doctors actually recommended cow milk for babies instead of breast feeding? In some countries, this is practiced still..yet in others, it is known that breas milk only for babies is the way to go while refraining from cows milk till they're older children.

We drink it because of habit...culture...peer pressure (everyone does!). It is quite good too. I'd love to guzzle on a nice, cold, clean bottle of fresh, unpasteurized goat milk over some cheerios right now...but i just don't need that cholesterol and animal fat. I don't need the gastric acid or gas production.Superior Mind wrote:
We are the only animals that drink milk after infancy (besides when we give it to cats). So why drink it? I prefer water and iced tea.
I like soymilk but tastes quite different from ordinary milk, I'd take soymilk over normal milk anyday though.usmarine2007 wrote:
Soymilk? No thanks. Shall we not eat meat also? or not eat cheese? or ice cream?
