The only hip-hop music I can really appreciate and listen to is:

-Anticon artists (e.g. Sole, Alias, Sage Francis, Dose One, WHY? cLOUDDEAD)- considered more experimental/abstract hip-hop than the 'norm'.
-MF Doom / King Gheedorah / DangerDoom / Madvillain - Genius, pure genius.
-(Some) Wu-Tang Clan incl. solo projects of RZA/GZA/Ghostface - Classic!
-Madlib / Jaylib / 'x' Jazz/Instrumental project - Best hip-hop producer around, period.
-Immortal Technique - Great political/spoken word, as well as hip-hop.
-Saul Williams - Same as above... more spoken word than old-school hip-hop, interesting stuff.

Gangsta rap, rap music as a whole, and commercial&mainstream hip-hop really doesn't do anything for me. It's a talentless crock of shit, if I may say so myself from my white-nerd hip-hop perspective. "Crunk" and all other sub-genres such as that really need to DIAF. It's all about the 4 Elements!
