it just doesnt seem right. sure the "older" members have enjoyed a lot in their day from this site, but that doesnt me we run the place, or that our opinions are any better than someone new who walks in here. i think this site as seen some good additions to its member base since 2007.
You guys have been her longer than I have by far, but I think it makes sense. I look at it as going to someone else's party and you don't know anyone. Do you just walk in and throw around the sarcastic comments and screw with people at the party (come to think of it, alot of you people would )?..teddy..jimmy wrote:
These are Chuy's forums not the "old members"- why shouldn't the new members have the right to be dicks aswell?
But really, most people would be polite and kinda hang back a bit until you get to know people enough before youd just start hammering on them. If, not, chances are about ten people you pissed off are gonna kick your ass.
Just because you can hide behind a keyboard doesn't give you the right to flame IMO. This really isnt any big deal to me, but I see where you're coming from.
EDIT: Bubbalo would be a good example for me. I agree with almost nothing he posts in D&ST, but other more "senior" members retort with what I would have said. I do post my opinions, but it's just about respecting a community that established itself.

I've registered in '07 and I don't think I've done much wrong.
While I guess it is true that some of the smacktards have been people woh registered this year, this "seniority" thing is kind of crazy IMO. No one, no matter when they've signed up, should have the right to flame, but that's too ideal. People, no matter when they've signed up, will always flame, even if just a little bit. So to restrict flaming to oldies is a bit... eh.
Sometimes, people might just have been visiting as guests for a while before signing up. I'm one of them. I signed up in '07, but found this forum in October of '06.
To tell people to search is one thing, but to do it rudely is another. Being an Old timer shouldn't justify the "SEARCH DUMBASS" type posts, and that may be the reason new people snap. And even if they do search, and find a topic that's been dead for a bit, but doesn't completely answer their question, what happens then? OMG NECROPOST! WHY THE FUCK DID YOU REVIVE A MONTH OLD TOPIC!!!111 Yes, not searching gets annoying sometimes, but seriously, do people who ask to search have to snap themselves and act all high and mighty?
I guess being here longer makes you think that the newcomers who act high and mighty themselves are acting like they own the place, but there are many instances in which a oldtimer acts like he owns the place himself.
Sorry if this came out wrong, but I feel that this generalization of dickheads being in the '07 batch applies to me when I doubt that I've been much of an asshole to most. Plus, I'm pretty sure this influx of idiocy happens from time to time, and this is just one of those "phases." Again, sorry if this came out to be an offensive post towards the oldies.

Lol @ "my e-pen0r is older than your e-pen0r!!1" mentality.
Good to be back.
thats a good point, i wouldnt insult people, or flame personally against people i dont know too well. having said that i probably wouldnt if id been here for a year or two unless it was people i knew outside of bf2s or just in bf2s really well, but i dunno if its gonna be hard to get to know people who have established themselves as the 'old members' when i am the new guy.
edit: the good point thing was to the guy above, was to 'Smithereener'

I just find it funny that people that have only been registered here a few months are calling people newbs and such. I might not post much but I read this BB everyday and I have noticed how in the past few months we have been getting a influx of just generally stupid posters. I wish we could go back to the days of just talking about the game and the good times we have had instead of all of this childish fighting.

Even know I started in this forum at the beginning I repent myself.

I don't know what to think really...
I've been around here for a while. Don't post much. I mainly post in help sections, because I like to help out people that have had the same problems that I have had with this glitchy game.
So, I mainly just read the topics in junk drawer or D & ST. I laugh at the funnies, and am in awe of the arguements put across in debate. Posts are started by a range of people; people who joined in 05, people who joined in 06, people who joined in 07. It's not made by any single person- it's what it is because of everyone that puts something in to it. Be it an 'old member' or a 'newtard' or whatever you called them.
What if we had no new members? Do you think that the Forum would continue to be what it is, with just a base of 'old members'? No. People leave. People stop being so active.
The new members bring life to the forum. They bring new personalities, new ideas. Of course, sometimes these ideas/jokes/videos/whatever else have already been posted. Cue inb4close, searchunub or whatever other unconstructive piece of spam. And who does this come from? Everyone
What you said in the OP was a generalised statement. It is not new members causing trouble. It's people that
Haven't read the rules
I guarantee that the inb4close and other comments equally come from old members as they do from new members. And not searching? The same. Everyone makes mistakes. Nobody is perfect.
The answer to this wasn't statements such as this-
EDIT- I just want to make it clear that I don't think what you said was wrong. I think that the message you are putting across is. Before Alpha edited you, you did not even have a message saying that people who follow the rules, and post with respect are welcome. I don't think you should aim it at new members.

Well im from 05 or 06 i cant remeber but wehether im sane is a different matter TBH.
and in my 21 month life on BF2s I have only made around 15-20 posts so I cant brag about having a elite status im just on person carrying on with my life and I have other interests than a forum or internet gaming such as school flying or airsoft then its anything else I fancy
But it does annoy me when some N00b fucktard who has being on the forum for say a week thinks he knows it all and brags that he has a bigger E-penis than the N00b before him tough you never know he may have had a virtual cock extension.
But who honestly cares about the n00bs. Because I don't for one.

Dear God please let my karma one day reach 100, whether it be tomorrow or 1000 years in the future i want it to happen.
