Maybe he's the political Drunken Master. When he quits drinking, he loses the power of intelligence.
In retrospect Wilson was a failure by most measures. The League of Nations failed. He trumpeted the revisionist, KKK-glorifying "Birth of a Nation" as a factual documentary. While at Princeton he discouraged Blacks from even applying for admission and allowed federal agencies to actively discriminate based on race. He described segregation as "not a humiliation but a benefit, and ought to be so regarded by you gentlemen." He freewheeled through Latin America, invading and intervening in the domestic affairs of those nations. He jailed individuals merely for dissent.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Truly horrendous.
It's obvious he tries too hard now. I mean, the guy graduated from Yale or Standford, or some shit like that. The guy has to be smart. I believe he just tries to be right all the time and in doing so, puts forth the image he has now. Wait until he's not president anymore, he'll be talking so much shit to everyone. It's gonna be great.

Lincoln was an opportunist, not an idiot. Very smart, but very Machiavellian....unnamednewbie13 wrote:

It sounds like he stayed up rehearsing it for hours the night before. Why would he bother rehearsing or trying to memorize anything now? The election is over.
No, Kerry looks like Lurch from the Addams Family.Turquoise wrote:

LOL... I always get those two shows confused...
That's ok. TV Land on cable has many such entertaining shows. Gotta love Hogan's Heroes.Turquoise wrote:

That's pretty wild. Pretty wild decline, maybe the nose candy catching up. Actually I have no idea what would cause the difference.
True... In the words of Rick James... "Cocaine is a hell of a drug."liquix wrote:

Preaching to the choir. Wilson was one of my least-favorite presidents. I voted against him.Masques wrote:

Whatever he was, people in the day still thought him an idiot.Turquoise wrote:

When students are rich, they can literally buy their way into school. Not to say that all rich students aren't smart....Jenkinsbball wrote:

But I agree, he really does try too hard. It's also probably the pressure of his presidency. Maybe he wasn't prepared as he thought he was to be president?
10 years ago, he was probably jacked up on drugs (despite his BS claim to be born again)...or he possibly had memorized his closing/opening statement in that clip.
What I do know is that the drugs he has done has screwed him up..and he's been on drugs (prescription anti-depressants and presumably others) over the last few years as evidenced by googling "bush jaw twitch" and seeing what I'm talking about. He's also waaaaaay out of his league when talking to unscreened non-prepared people or simply talking about pretty much ANY issue.
I watch Letterman now and then and he always does that cool bit called "Greatest Moments in Presidential Speeches" and it's simply amazing how ANY HUMAN IN THE WORLD can be soooo absolutely retarded.

He clearly had a teleprompter or an excellent ventriloquist.
man it would be really entertaining if your President had to face Presidents question time in Congress once a week, like Tony Blair has to in the house of Commons.
