I prefer the MX518 over the G7 because it's not-wireless and i prefer the MX518 over the G5 because it got more thumb buttons.
Wrong.  There is a big difference when you're tanking/apc at 1600 versus 400.  Long range Sniping at 400 versus 1600.

I'm an armor whoring sniper...

the mx518 is great. The adjustable DPI is great for sniping (as haffeysucks said). And the thing i didnt like about the G5 and G7 was the loss of the side key for the thumb.

i suggest the mx518, dpi switch, and thumb button ftw!

I have a side key on my g5. Maybe I am not sure what you are talking about.

sorry, there are two side keys on the mx518.. and just one on the g5/g7 i believe (I should have been clearer) I had grown used to the extra key, and the loss of it would really mess me up.

I have the G5 - I love it the DPi switch is helpfull when trying to cap a flag in tank or APC you can check all the spawn points faster looking for those sneaky Spec-Ops guys trying to blow your ass up. The weight system is not really useful though. And I do wish it had 1 more thumb button on it.

ummm, actually I find that feature very useful.

But I do agree with your conclusion about the 518 over the G5.
