1. His one experience with a Muslim guy doesn't prove anything.
2. The Abu Darda quote "We smile in the face of some people although our hearts curse them", isn't referring to Muslims or Islam but is referring to human nature.
3. It's not a Mosque

Bizarre comparison. As far as I know, pr0n hasn't really been associated with an attack like that. Two different animals.

As far as I'm concerned, it's not a question of can they, but should they.

Yeah, we're at war with fanatical Islam.  It's similar, but with some important differences.

Can/should. I understand the difference between Islam and fanatical Islam just fine. But not everybody does, which is why I still think it would be a better idea if they avoided building something next to ground zero.

No, I'm not going to fly to NY to picket a mosque.

It's called Islamism, folks.

Macbeth, thanks for actually posting an intelligent article and highlighting the key points. If it isn't going to be a mosque, let them build it, who cares? Jews have community center, Christians do, too. If they want to build a Mosque, too - fine, let them. Free country. It wouldn't be in my opinion the best place to build one, but we as their fellow Americans shouldn't stop them, either.

Didn't say we were. It's their call, not ours, but is it the best of ideas?

Well, that depends on if the porn shop was already in place before 9/11 or not.

Only certain Muslims have the kind of agendas that people worry about.  It's like Christians or any other religious people for that matter.

There are some Muslims who are very focused on pushing forward Islamist governments throughout the world and converting the masses to Islam.   By the same token, there are Christians that push the conversion thing and religious government as well, although conversion by force is mostly a thing of the past for Christians.  It's not as much a thing of the past for Muslims in certain countries. For example, it's technically punishable by death to convert out of Islam in Afghanistan, which is why that Christian convert guy had to be snuck out of there to escape execution.

EDIT: for clarity.

where do you see muslims force others to convert?

...and as you wrote, people with certain believe will always try to spread it, even atheists, so what is your point?

bush declared an illegal war on 'terrorism', in his veiled-language basically meaning 'fanatical islamic extremism'

you are not at war with islam lowing, don't be so hyperbolic.

i don't see americans forcing every on-paper muslim in the country to leave immediately or be executed.

in fact you're 'allied' with a great number of pentagon arab-expert orientalists and muslims.

or are they not 'real' muslims by your divine ruling?

In some Islamic societies, it is a crime to convert out of Islam.  That's forcing someone to stay in the faith when the punishment is usually very severe (like execution).

It may not be a forced conversion, but it's a forced way to keep someone from converting away from Islam.

nope they are not. If you do not follow the teachings of Islam, then you are not following Islam.

http://www.breitbart.tv/muslim-leader-a … -of-peace/

Even Islamic leaders are telling you this. Why do not want to believe the very people practicing it when they tell you?

"Illegal" war?, Was ther a constitutional law against going to war against those that attack you? Who says this is illegal?

one teacher does not represent the entire network of preachers, let alone the entire religion

when obama's pastor went nuts with all that crazy christian talk, did that then automatically mean that every christian made those comments about 9/11? extend your own logic to your own people... does it make sense then? if not, it's probably because that logic is batshit crazy.

Do you really really REALLY think the one leader that I cited is the ONLY one that feels that way? Do you really really REALLY think, given what has been done and said AT GREAT LENGTH in the name of Islam there is nothing to it? REALLY???
