I love people who come into threads about movies after they are released... then complain about spoilers.N00bkilla55404 wrote:

Believe it or not but most people do care about visuals. Im not talking about explosions are space ships and giant robots. Scenes in the movie are just artistically beaufitull. They are not amazing because they are in CGI, they are amazing because they are amazing. Scenes of nature could compete against the best National Geographic photosDoctor Strangelove wrote:
Only 13 year olds care about fucking CGI. "Special Effects" haven't been special since the 90's. So tell me, is the actual movie any good?
Fair enough. I plan on seeing it - I was just stating what I'd heard from a couple of friends.zeidmaan wrote:

I've heard that the plot is entirely predictable, and that overall the film isn't very good at all.
I just got back from watching it and its truly awesome. Visually its better than any movie I have ever seen, and I have been an avid movies fan for 20 years - first 7 it was just cartoons
The 3d is amazingly done and tbh I cant wait for more movies done like Avatar. Its not just things flying "towards" you to scare you. Even the simple dialogue scenes are imersive due to depth of field. And forest scenes are
The real actors did a good job and to me the CGI characters were very good as well. They are so real that you forget they are not. They move very realistically and their facial expressions successfully convey an array of emotions.
Even though it is kind of predictable, the story is great. The whole idea at the core of the story is quite interesting. I wont go in to details but I will just say that much more time was allocated to story telling than I expected.
Overall 9/10 and worth every penny (cent).
Just watch the movie. I doubt you will really find a part of the movie that will disappoint you.-Sh1fty- wrote:
So I'm going to go see it in 3D today. How's the action scenes? The story line? Any sexy times?
So many unanswered questions from watching the trailers and exclusive scenes.

Can't be as predictable as Titanic.
District 9 was very good. I think District 9 was as good as it was BECAUSE of the story. Avatar has a good story, predictable in many ways, but it doesn't take away from the movie itself. Again, very enjoyable.T1g3r217 wrote:
Great movie, I'm definitely going to see it again. 9.7/10
D9 was better, though, imo.
