NPCs you couldnt bear to kill/watch die

Have you ever had games where the NPCs are just so great that you do your utmost to rescue them, ragequit when they die, or get tears in your eyes when they go? I have a few that I absolutely adored.

Alyx Vance: Spoiler (highlight to read):
Yes, she didn't die, but when I saw her get stabbed right before my eyes, I starting going batshit. Kept babbling to myself; Holy shit she just got stabbed ohfuckohfuckohfuck she's not gonna die, she's not gonna die, dont die Alyx...

Just the way it happened, especially after the things he just said. The way he just cared about everyone made me a sad panda

Chasing that truck down the street, just watching his body being dragged around was sickening. He looked up to boss like a dad. And then the cutscene right after, my guy just holding his hand and the BAM, shoots him dead

Aisha (SR2):Spoiler (highlight to read):
Johnny Gat's love interest, sacrificing herself so we could live. Noble, but knowing she got decapitated for it is Come to think of it, there are so many people in that game who die brutal, brutal ways its sick. <3 Saints though.

I'll probably have more as I think of it, who's your NPCs?

I wouldn't discount it happening though. At the end of Episode 2 after you've fired the rocket, when Eli is warning you about the Borealis while Alyx runs outside to see Dog, it goes a little like this:

Eli: You must destroy that ship.. [Alyx walks into frame] ..whatever the cost.

It can't have been coincidence, it's timed so perfectly. Once I realised it sent a chill down my spine, and every time since.

First time I got there, I put the whole clip into Sakhaev only to get shot by his two goons
