have seen most of the dubstep DJ's in the OP live in london dubstep clubs...

plastician was the best by far. bristol scene represent! good producer.

i fucking hate how dubstep is so 'cool' now though. kids that only like the club-shit like excision and datsik going crazy for the jagged WUB WUB, when they have nooo appreciation of the proper, old dancehall/dub/reggae shit that spawned the genre- let alone the garage/grime/future-garage influences. frustrates me, that small sub-genre of dubstep (clubstep, or whatever you wanna call it) is almost like becoming a new happy-hardcore. fucking philistines!

the bug / king midas sound, kode9, digital mystikz, martyn's great lengths is way up there for this year... distance, 2562, ital tek... mount kimbie, joy orbison, untold... kromestar, loefah, coki, benga... burial... there's tons of 'real' influenced dubstep still around. all the stuff that is popular in clubs now stems from pretty much one source: caspa&rusko fabric live vol. 37. they don't even play shit that tacky in fabric anymore.
