MW2 is made "for the vast majority of gamers". That's my point.
Does that mean you will stop bitching about all the things wrong with this game because you hold it to a now unattainable benchmark game from 8 years ago that you view with rose-tinted glasses?Miggle wrote:

You were bitching about MW2 before it came out. You hardly have an unbiased opinion, Mr. Old School. That's not to say your arguments don't have merit. It's more a statement that you seem to want to find problems with the game to back up your advance hatred of something you hadn't played.
I didn't even have to touch Steam. Just installed, replaced .exe, started game.Miggle wrote:
yep. you just have to get the multiplayer crack and fuck with steam a bit.Sydney wrote:
So you can get online with a cracked version now? Skidrow?
And many more were obsessing over it before it came out, do they want to find things good with the game to back up their love? I think almost everybody had an opinion of the game before they played it, it's certainly not just me. Why should I be the only one not allowed to state my opinion, even things that aren't purely opinion, like describing exactly what my experiences online have been like?KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

To your first sentence - without a doubt there are and they do.Miggle wrote:

You are free to state your opinion and your experiences online. I actually enjoy hearing them and have had a few of the same connection problems you had. I play games for the enjoyment aspect of it - if I don't like a game, I'm not going to pine on and on about how much it sucks - I'm going to move on to a different game. MW2 isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread, it's a mediocre game in a franchise that has been mediocre for years. Like I said, I find MW2 to be more enjoyable than MW1. I actually have fun playing this one for more than 30 minutes as opposed to MW1 where I would inevitably rage-quit almost every time. I don't expect the game to be awesome, maybe that is the difference.
I don't expect any games to be awesome, ever. Several have surprised me. I think I agree that gameplay wise this is better than CoD4, but I really didn't like CoD4. From my 2 minutes in matches, other than feeling like it wasn't firing or zooming when I was clicking the buttons, and of course dropping every two minutes, I found it a lot less spammy and more fun than CoD4. That said, it was a lot easier to find a game I would enjoy (for however brief a time) in CoD4.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I'm not sure what you're trying to argue, but I've gotten a lot of shit for not thinking this was the best game ever made.

You're so full of shit miggle. I played about 40 hours since it came out. Never once did the connection drop. No one left the game, and it easy to just mute people. You and your internet just suck harder than a Thai hooker.
Intermissions are boring...
and miggle shut up with the "ive been playing since 2001 since before everyone else" bullshit. ive played fps games a lot more and to a far more competitive/hardcore degree than you; there's a difference between having a discerning taste and being a whiney little shitbag that enjoys whining for the sake of it. play the fucking game and have fun, or dont- and then uninstall it and shut the fuck up. we don't care if your router/port-forwarding/UPnP-NAT settings are too shit to play. we can all join and play without lag just fine.

because this is a gaming forum, why would they state an opinion?Miggle wrote:

There we go. Dedicated server functionality.
Now code in lean and we're all set.

Will increase the pressure on IW to release dedi's and I'll be surprised if they don't at least say "we're thinking about it". Whether they actually release proper dedicated servers or just repackage the hacked dedis...
