Question... If a PSU is giving off a high pitch whine, and the keyboard starts adding in key strokes when you are not typing and then the sound stops working, and you have intermittent lock ups.... could that possibly be just a bad PSU or is the MB most likely going too?
This is not your new build is it?Canin wrote:

Do all these symptoms happen at the same time as the increase in noise from the PSU? Is it the PSU fan thats whining?
If something is wrong with teh PSU then it can certainly strain and cause stability issues with the computer. Also, it could take your motherboard and other components with it when it goes (worst case).
From what you've said so far it seems PSU related.
Also, it would help to get the specs (too lazy to do a research).
Keyboard is adding in key strokes not done by you?
Its the wifes computer. I ordered a new PSU for hers when I ordered my parts. Its definitly the PSU whining, it does it with the comp turned off and if you flip the switch on the PSU the whine slowly changes pitch. Here is hoping it hasnt damaged the MB.SonderKommando wrote:

Capacitor whine? Rma if possible, I've also heard you can coat the offensive cap in nail polish to mute it. This will void your warrenty though.
E: dicking around in you psu can be dangerous. Fair warning.

Getting my NZXT Phantom on Saturday, pics to come.
Corsair is really fucking pissing me off. After buying an HX1050, Vengeance Ram, the 800D, and Force GT SSD's from them I cant get a fucking response from two emails across one week regarding the fucking scratch on the interior side of the 800d side panel window?!
Support blows dick.

Isn't it pretty normal for support requests to take at least a week to process?

SLA on the webpage says to expect a response in 24 hours.FloppY_ wrote:

Wish I knew if it was my RAM or MOBO that is borked Bluescreen at random intervals is getting annoying... Have no other mobo to test the RAM on

Test each DIMM individually in each slot till you find the bad DIMM or slot.FloppY_ wrote:

I've tried running some 4 memtests but I can't figure it out.. It's not consistent
The only consistency is that the error bits are FFFFFFFF

ah shit I need a new CPU and more RAM.
arse.
arse.
noice
Ram seems pretty cheap lately at least.
It is here in Austria! A year ago 4GB cost me a touch over €80, now I can get 8GB for €36 (from Mushkin, no less).Nic wrote:

An air compressor can fix that in 5 seconds.FloppY_ wrote:

The card stabilizer bracket on that sucks I hear. Threads into the plexi instead of a metal insert, strips really easy. Other that that, one of the better test beds.eusgen wrote:

Hmm so so maybe the memory controller cannot write to that address for some reason?FloppY_ wrote:
