i'll reserve a final lasting judgement until i can possibly play the game myself at some point.

Nah, its the part of me that likes to play a good game where the talented win and the noobs ragequit like old games. Not where the game is made so everyone has a 1:1 ratio and Peter the private can shoot down a 2 year jet pilot with AA on his first day of the game. They took all the nerfs of BF2 welfare patches shot them up with HGH, added sparkly graphics and called the game bf3.

So fucking glad i didn't buy a new computer woohoo me.
