When I was last working - some time ago - I was on 25K (in british money) - that was in a relatively junior position - and I've seen starting salaries of 30K with a good degree (but those are rare (the 30K, not the good degree)).

We wont even allowed to use our forks as "shovels" when eating peas during school dinner...they would actually walk around and watch us stab and then eat em.

and you had to show your plate to them when you had finished and if everything wasn't eaten you had to go back and finish it off. Yes i am still bitter 25 years later. My playtime was severely reduced.
